You can just shake off water from a light rain, as the cushion cover is water repellent.
The cushion covers are dope dyed, a process that reduces consumption of water and dyestuff while improving color fastness compared to traditional dyeing techniques.
The seat/back cushion has a longer life, since it can be turned over and used on both sides.
Easy to keep clean since the cushion cover can be removed and washed.

DisappointedTiaIKEA please make replacement covers for this item and improve the quality of the inner cushion. As many other reviewers have commented, the inside cushions disintegrate and the cushion covers tear so easily. This is an expensive set and the quailty is so disappointing.
Do not waste your moneyNicole MarieI bought these a few years ago and within a year the inserts started tearing when I pulled the cushions in and out of the pillow covers (at a normal gentle force) which was once a year, to wash the pillow covers. Now some of the tears are so big, so much stuffing comes out. They are GARBAGE. I can't believe the price point for such cheap fabrication. Customer service - please let me know where I can go to replace this item as it's clear by all the reviews that it was not made properly and/or the material used is defected.
Doesnt lastThereseI have these when they came out. Quite beautiful but expensive. Didn't last and they dont sell just the over for the cushions. The material ripe off after a summer. the base is still good.
Inner cushions disintegratedJenalleWe have one Havsten sofa and one chair that we love. We purchased them within the year, and are diligent with ensuring furniture covers are on when not in use. Recently when we went to wash the covers, all of the back cushions had completely disintegrated. We pulled the cushion out and our backyard was covered in cushion fluff. None of them were salvageable so unfortunately we have to purchase 3 new sets of cushions which will cost several hundreds of dollars.

Where is the pillow cover for a WHITE outdoor pad?JoyceThis price is so high, for this aspect of the seat. For a white coloured outdoor item, there really should be a pillow cover option available at an affordable cost if IKEA truly is about sustainability and the people.
I hope to see better product line ups that think future forward.
For the back part onlyNatashaI saw a bin of the back cushions only at my local ikea, on a good sale. Two of them side by side are exactly the same as a queen size bed. So, I grabbed them and made myself a super comfortable “headboard” for reading in bed. They filled the annoying gap between the mattress and wall since my frame doesn’t go flush with the wall. They are perfect and much cheaper than any headboard I was looking at, or any replacement foam I could purchase.
