Hauga 8 drawersAnnaLove the design. Would recommend it to others5
Horrible qualityKristinaWe have had this dresser for just over a year and its cracked on top and then also a big piece broke off as well. The quality of ikea has gone drastically down. For the price of this I would expect stellar quality. Never again, not to mention that they don’t even offer to do anything with the negative comments goes to show you what kind of company they are.1
great buyJoanneI bought the dresser and it was delivered on time and in 3 boxes. It was easily put together and looks fantastic. I can't wait to use it in my new place.5
Quite SturdyMajaIt took a while to put together, yes, but thats because we were super careful with pieces. Its a fairly big and heavy piece and symmetrical so it took time to stop and figure a couple of things out together. All in all though, we’re quite happy with the size and quality. Its what we expected. 5
Save your money, don't buyJodieEven with 2 people this was incredibly difficult and in the end it collapsed during assembly can't be put back together and is going to the dump. Save your money, don't buy this dresser1
Good / lots of space / deep drawers NanGood product - need to assemble slowly and carefully - look at the pictures in the assembly instructions carefully. Love it - changed out the knobs - and put sting for the lowest pullout drawers so I don't knock them with my ankles - drawers very deep so can put in a lot of bulky stuff or two layers of stuff in scubb boxes 5
Spacious dresser but the sliding in the backboard was incredibly frustrating WajihaThe worst step was sliding the backboard into the groves. You need lots of clearance to start this step because it comes as one giant piece that needs to slide in completely flat. This is rough if you're assembling in an already furnished room. The back piece is so large, and the grooves are so thin, that as you slide it in, it begins to sag in the center. That u-bend made it impossible to slide it into the third groove at the top. Since the dresser is facedown, you can't apply upward pressure from the underside to counteract it. We circumvented this issue by placing two yoga blocks to elevate the dresser off the ground, to even it out so it was level. Once the top end was up, one person squeezed the corners to get the grooves aligned perfectly, another laid on the ground pushing upwards to address the sag, and a third pushed in the backboard. The "push in then push right" steps for combining the pieces at 90° joins was challenging. Lots of force necessary, painful for the palms. 3
Plastic, plastic, plasticChrisI assembled this alone and it took nearly 5 hours. I have never before seen so much plastic on an IKEA product--nearly every fastener is plastic, even those for the drawers which will presumably face overloading challenges. It does not feel particularly sturdy. During this bedroom project, I disassembled two MALM dressers and found the quality of those pieces to be superior. That said, the overall look is quite nice, and the two bottom drawers are free to roll on the ground, which is a bonus. The drawers are spacious and pull out far enough to reach the back. 2
Solid 8Anonymous reviewerThis is a solid piece. Takes a while for two people to assemble the frame but worth it. We love the extra-large bottom drawers on wheels. Those bottom drawers are the ones that usually break first from overloading. We can tell these are a vast improvement. 5
Good size for my bedroom it’s easy asamblea ManGood product easy assembly fit for my bedroom 5
Great looking and spacious dresserHandeI was a little apprehensive after reading the reviews but I love my new dresser. I bought it approximately 4 months ago and waited to write the review to see how I feel about it after using it. I assembled it myself in 4 hours and, to me, pieces were clearly marked. I am an experienced IKEA builder so I know to get everything out and read the instructions a couple of times before I start. The assembly went on without a hitch and I really love my new dresser. It is very spacious, the drawers open almost all the way, and the bottom drawers slide out completely. I recommend it to anyone with enough patience for the assembly, you will not regret it. 5
The material is very delicate, the pieces brokeAnonymous reviewerThe pieces broke on me I had to go twice to IKEA to get a replacement piece 2
Triple check every step, match your pieces to the illustration closely and it will be easy peasy! BearAfter assembly I was quite happy with the end product, the drawers are spacious enough for my clothes, the wheels roll on the floor nicely which is a great idea. Assembly took a while, but in the end it is worth it. Triple checked everything so it took me seven hours with no help. Slow and steady worked for me! 5

IKEA takes the lead to reduce the risk of tipping

At IKEA, we want to create a better everyday life for the many people – and a safer life is a better life. That’s why we constantly work to develop innovative stability solutions.

Furniture tipping over is one of the home furnishing industry's most serious safety issues and we’ll never stop working on innovative stability solutions for our storage furniture. A tip-over accident can happen when you least expect it. It could be someone using a drawer as support to stand up or children climbing to reach something on top. But no one can predict all the scenarios that everyday living at home can create. That’s why the best way to avoid tipping accidents is to always anchor the furniture to the wall. But we also offer new stability solutions that help make our storage furniture safer. One example is our stability feature Anchor and Unlock. "It means that the chest of drawers must be anchored to a wall to be able to open more than one drawer at a time, which reduces the risk of tipping, but doesn’t entirely remove it. By anchoring the chest of drawers to the wall, you unlock the drawers and can open them all at once," says Björn Andreasson from the development team. Another way we increase stability is to integrate it into the design. "With GREÅKER cabinet with drawers, for example, we´ve developed hinges that stop the doors at a 115-degree angle and keep them there to reduce the risk of tipping," says product developer Dagmara Pawlus. IKEA of course meets all safety requirements in our markets, but we don’t just settle for this. We often set higher demands than what legislation requires to help people enjoy a better everyday life – in a safer home.
