Solid pine is a natural material that ages beautifully and acquires its own unique character over time.
The untreated wood is beautiful as it is, but can also be personalized with a coat or two of paint in your favourite colour.
If you oil, wax, lacquer or stain the untreated solid wood surface it will be more durable and easy to care for.
For a softer seat or to add a personal touch to the room, complete with a chair pad in the style and colour of your choice.

Very Poor Quality MalihaI just moved into a new space and built this table with my brother. It took some time to build and the chairs need better building techniques because it was really hard to put together and they were still misaligned. Anyhow, I found the table to be really poor quality. Within a week of very gentle use, it is just me and my hubby, we use it as a kitchen table for dinner only; the table has chipped on the leg and there are bubbles underneath the paint on the top. I put on a protector to try to hide it but with $200 I expected better quality and for it to at least last a year before chipping. Horrible experience but I guess they say correct "ikea furniture is ikea furniture." This is the first time I bought from ikea and the last. The products nor the services were good enough for me to come back.
