Smell like dead animals AyeI purchased the pillows from Ikea Richmond 2 months ago. I paid CAD89 each. I washed them according to the instructions on the pillows after 2 months. After I washed them, they smelled really bad even though it didn’t smell anything before I washed them. The smell is mix between the smell coming out of dead birds and dog (animal smell). So I called the customer service and explained about my issue. The lady from the call center told me that I can return them as long as it’s within 90 days. She didn’t mention that the store decision is the final decision or whether. So I went to return them today and the supervisor (named Chitra) was really rude and told me she didn’t trust my hygiene and she can’t accept my return because she can’t resell it. She told me that nobody wash pillows. I explained her that I contacted the call center and they said I can return it. Chitra said I can’t trust the call center because they just said whatever since they can’t see the condition of the product.1

A good contender for the price range KaylaI’ve tried too many pillows in the past two years, it’s comparable to my $130.00 daniadown down pillow. I do wish there was more filling because it goes kind of flat but I’m truly starting to believe the perfect pillow is in the several hundred dollar range. It is comfortable though and I haven’t noticed any odd smells as mentioned in other reviews. I’d like to see how it holds up before commenting on whether I’d purchase again. 4
Stuffing is lacking.AndrewThe "high" pillow is only about 4 inches thick which compresses to about 2 inches when you lay your head on it. I'm a very average sized man with average breadth shoulders and I would need to stack 2 of these pillows to comfortably support my head. The "low" version should just be called 'flat' it compresses to maybe an inch under the weight of your head. The product does not come close to matching what the imagery and video on the website depict... Take the wonderful firm fluffyness from the website and cut it at least in half to get a good idea of what you're buying2

How to care for your down/feather pillow

With a little care, you can prolong the life of your down/feather pillow and keep it fresh. The filling has a natural smell which can be reduced by airing or washing. Wash the pillow separately with a mild detergent (1/3 of the normal amount) on delicate cycle at 60°C. Avoid bleach/fabric softeners. Tumble dry immediately on low heat. A dryer ball or a high-quality tennis ball in the dryer make drying mor efficient. Air your pillow regularly, if possible, in direct sunlight.
