Ratings and reviews

Good valueYuanzheThe aerator makes the faucet a bit loud but makes the water very soft when it hits your hands despite the height and doesn’t splash. It’s a good option for those with larger sinks where you don’t want the faucet too close to the back edge5
Amazing faucet especially for the price!JanelleAmazing faucet especially for the price! Great water pressure, can pivot the faucet, and it has minimal splash back. Love the handle being on the side too to avoid drips.5
Glypen faucetTadekLike the way operates, swivel to both sites, good looking, supply tool make installation easy 5
Perfect for need. Anonymous reviewerRighly priced and perfect for need5
Newly installedAnonymous reviewerI just had it installed and it is working quitevwell. The only small issue so far is the faucet sits very tall at 10+ in, and with our vanity raised to comfort level, both the faucet and vanity pushed our mirrored Godmorgan (medicine) cabinets higher than preferred. 4
Works well plus great value.RayI was concerned that there would be splash back issues due to water discharge from ch high point. Pleasantly surprised to find that the spout design aerated the stream well therefore the water lands softly in the basin. The spout swivels perfectly well. Great looking and functional product.5
leaking from handleCindyVery happy with how faucet looks, works and installed. However, after 3 years of use, a leak has developed between the rotating handle and main body. 2
Leaking after 3 yearsAnnehI installed the tap just over 3 years ago, and it’s now leaking from the join between the handle and the body of the tap.2
It’s a well made faucet.MikeIt’s a well made faucet. Installation is a bit more advance than other faucets as the range of motions has to be adjusted. The knob motion is also a bit odd. Rather than that, it’s a hood faucet and so far no complain. I installed 3 of them and one of them seems to have a delay to shot off the water.4
Slow to stopBryanWhen you shut it off, the water doesn’t stop immediately. It’s like it has to empty what’s in the neck. Never had a tap that does this. Staff at Etobicoke Ikea told me that’s the way it is. Disappointing.1
It’s a perfect size forDeniseIt’s a perfect size for a bar sink.5
Poor finishWalterUsed only a couple of weeks. Finish looks tarnished.1

Good faucetGuLooking forward to seeing it last for a reasonable time4
Glypen FaucetLorenaSo far it seems quite good. It's attractive and sleek. We purchased it as a replacement for the previous IKEA faucet we bought a few years ago, which broke!! So, not impressed with the quality of the previous faucet. Hope this one has a better track record.5

Water-conscious commitment in bathrooms

Every time you brush your teeth, wash your hands, shave or take a bath, you can help with something essential – saving water. That’s why all our taps have an aerator that saves water and energy while keeping the water stream just right. But that’s just a small part of a bigger effort: conserving more clean water than we use.

Antony Smith, an engineer from England, remembers when he joined IKEA and the small team that develops our taps and showers. "I realized we practice what we preach about sustainability," Antony says. "It's a refreshing experience, but it makes our job really difficult because we genuinely have to deliver on sustainability with each product."

Water is precious, but often taken for granted

So, why conserving water? Because no organism on earth can survive without it, and no new water is created. It's constantly recycled, but our freshwater supply is overused and not evenly distributed. It’s impacted by pollution, contamination and climate change, too. "Those of us who live where you can just turn on your tap may not think about saving water; it's taken for granted," Antony says.

Thinking about water at every step

Behind the scenes, we constantly explore new ways to improve water efficiency. That includes providing factory workers and their families with fresh drinking water, ensuring all factory water is cleaned before release, reducing water usage in textile production and using rainwater to flush toilets in stores. And now we are working on new taps using sensors and spray technology – and new water-efficient showers – to save even more. Every water-saving action adds up.

Material

What are zinc and zamak?

Zinc is a metallic element while zamak is a mixture of zinc, aluminium, magnesium and copper. Both are durable materials and easy to cast into different shapes. They are good at conducting heat and electricity. Objects made of zinc or zamak are often given a surface treatment to resemble metals like gold, brass or stainless steel. Both zinc and zamak retain their good properties when they are recycled to become new objects.
