Product details

The workstation is extra comfortable to work at, because the contoured table top allows you to sit close and supports your wrists and forearms.Keep your coffee, beverage or snacks nearby in the cut-out cup holders on either side of the table top. The cup holders are made of plastic that is approved for use with food.Hang the small shelves inside or outside the side panels, depending on your needs. You can fit a 32" computer monitor or TV by removing the shelf above the table top.The high side panels help block sunlight and prevent distracting glare on your computer monitor. Can be used with SIGNUM cable trunking to keep all cords in place.Measure the depth and width of your stationary computer. The measurements should be less than those of the shelf.Holds up to two 24" flat screens.Designer

Mostly fine with a serious engineering issueJ to the RockRectrnyl bought and assembled, the intructions were...interesting. A few steps that franky, shouldn't have been there (step 10 and 17 are weird and not needed if you just install the cross bar properly...) but the real issue is the lower shelves. The lower shelves are not good for bearing the weight of a full tower or sub wuffer because they're not secured properly as they don't connect with the back cross beam. Huge oversight and now I have to decide if I want to brace those shelves or return this mess of an engineering flaw. Great for mid towers and lower. Absolutely not acceptable for a full tower's weight.2
I wish they had it in whiteRallyrahulthe table is a good quality for its price. Perfect for those working on external monitors. The frame is light, and vibrates with printer working. That's ok though. Not too much of a storage thing. I like my comfortable wide work station with a cut out for elbow support. I wish they had white in stock. IKEA, please make white pieces.4
Love itsem12012We bought this desk for my husband after much consideration and searching. He does some PC gaming but also needed a proper workstation. So many desks on the market right now seem to be either very minimalist laptop tables, classic-style wooden desks that look great, but are pretty pricey and less functional (unless you buy storage add-ons), or super expensive professional executive corner desks that are way more than we need. For us, this hits the sweet spot of form, price, and function. He really liked the desk already in store, and once it was built at home, he is fully in love with his new command station. It is a functional, sturdy beast, and the all-black style matches all our PC peripherals. Pros: -Customizability - all the shelves can be arranged like you want, or left off completely. Plus you can place the PC tower on either side (with the other shelf then becoming storage), which is perfect. -Size - it's not a small desk by any means, but not massive either. Perfect work surface size to have both the PC peripherals but also room for papers. We have the one shelf down low a few inches above the surface, which acts as a monitor mount, spot for speakers, etc, and this frees up space under the shelf for papers and other small items. The little notch at the front allows you to lean in further when you want, and the height is good for a keyboard for both of us (I am 5'9, he is 6'1). A petite person might feel a bit overwhelmed by such a desk, but for a larger guy like him it feels like it fits him well. -Quality - The desk is super sturdy and high quality, very well-designed. Feels solid and not cheap at all. Took him and his dad about 2 hours to build. -Design Touches - lots of small details that are icing on the cake, like the little knobs for your headphones, dual cup holders, cable-routing holes on *both* sides (this is surprisingly hard to find). Cons -Cost - costs more than a simple laptop desk, but well worth it in our view. -A bit hard to build with no text, only images (but this is the case for almost all ikea furniture) Note - the boxes (there are 2) are pretty large, they *just* fit in our small hatchback with the seats folded down, and stretched across the whole width of the car side to side. I don't think it would fit in a sedan where the seats don't fold flat or the opening between the trunk and back seat is not the full width of the car. So if you have a smaller vehicle, be sure to measure.5
A great choice for gamersRLabelleLoving this desk cause of its ergonomics for desk work or even pc gaming. If anyone looking into a gaming desk I would recommend to take a look into this little one.5
Terrible installationKseniaKthis table has very poor engineering work. It’s first time when I’m so disappointed with IKEA product.1
Its was great.Dare454I've had this desk for 6-7 years and it was still running strong, but I got a little tired of the lack of desk space for my computer set up. The biggest thing is the small front cutout in front of where you would sit. I guess its intentional so you can have head room to look underneath the table for whatever. Having that cutout would force me to pull my chair a bit forward causing me to glare at my computer monitors up close after a while. Sometimes I also needed extra space to draw/make notes right in front of me, but couldn't other than position myself to one of the sides which is still isn't a lot of space especially with cup holders in the way. The only other thing with this desk is that its big and its one of those where you must take it completely apart when moving it to another room unless you have a very wide doorway. However, there are tons of pros to this and my favorites are the extra storage shelves at the bottom and top, and the cable management options it has to tie things to. Not to mention, the frames are also magnetic which allowed me place things to hang which was amazing. I will miss the features of this desk, but the lack of space not so much. I have decided to move onto the Idasen one which is much better for my posture. Overall still a great desk, but not for me anymore.4
lt505Bought and assembled this the other day, and while I really like the final product getting there was far more of a hassle than needed. Unnecessary steps in assembly, screws needed to be thrown out and replaced with better quality ones (I will never understand why robertson screws aren't the standard) and the side panels were warped and could not be installed at all, though I prefer the look without them anyway. Despite the assembly issues, the finished product is clean looking, spacious and quite solid. If you're looking for a good gaming or working desk this is a good option for the price, especially when compared to other gaming desks in the same price range.4
Terrible qualityJo5555The machining quality of the screws is the worst I’ve ever seen, making the building processes a nightmare. The only pro about this desk is that it will take an atomic bomb to dismantle it.1
Great DesksasseliIntended for my teenage son's room who is a gamer and hoarder of manga's. It fits all he has and then some ! It looks great and ticked all the boxes of what I wanted out of a multi functional desk. Only thing I'd mention as a negative are the side shelves. Not that easy to fit into place and once fitted do not hold that great. Not a deal breaker for us but would still have liked to be a simpler task and to have them on the unit.4
Deskmr01This product replaced an old computer desk I was using.4
Terrible instructions and design....N5150Terrible instructions and design. The ability to lose parts within the tubing is simply ridiculous. Don’t be afraid to use some words and pictures with more detail. This will be going back!!!1
Great deskKialfireflyBeen usuing for about 2-3 weeks now. Works great plenty of room/ work space and place to elevate PC tower of the ground, attached some l.e.d lights to it and got a light up mouse pad, makes the overall tone of it look totally awesome.5

Excellent, Customizable, Efficient WorkspaceJ3EBSI've owned this desk for nearly 3 years now and it's served me as well as any non-seating piece of furniture could ever hope to do. I've gone from having a TV on it, to a monitor, from having my desktop PC placed right on top, to on one of the bottom shelves, to sitting next to it. There's not much that could be done to improve the desk, but there are still two things.I still give this desk a 5 star review because for the vast majority of users, these two won't be issues: - Along the back piece of wood that would be parallel to a wall, the addition of a gap about 4 inches long and perhaps 36 (90cm) long, similar to the MALM series (probably IKEAs most popular desk currently) would be fabulous, as I use a monitor mount and there are no spaces to place the clamp - The frontmost edge of the desk doesn't need that area that dips in where the keyboard would be sitting. I imagine the only reason for this is that some people's arms hang down when typing, but that's actually bad ergonomics, and having that dip makes it tough to position a keyboard in such a way as to be comfortable. Apart from these two niggling issues, I am happily going to use this desk until either space constraints prevent me from doing so, or a windfall allows me to buy something similar but made with premium materials.5
Perfect Desk For GamingricecrespiBought this desk a couple months ago for my room to put my battle station in andit is amazing. I have my mid-atx tower sitting on the bottom shelf and it fits perfectly, I also have a 31.5 inch curved monitor that just barely fit under the top shelf but still have some room on either side. Overall this desk looks great and has plenty of room for creating a perfect gaming setup, just add some magnetic led's and you're all set!5
It"s good - worth them money.A Canadian DudeBought this a month ago, and it's been working well. Some minor design issues, so look at it in person before buying to make sure those issues won't make your life difficult.4
Nice computer setupHappy FootWanted something that would hold the extras, such as printer, speakers, modems, desk light and radio, and this unit works perfectly. There are 2 plastic bushings, and one was broken, that is why the quality rating is lower. Very happy with this unit.5
Perfect desk for gamingMatthew0005I bought this because I have a very specific size I needed for a desk and nothing else would fit, my PC is beside my wall mounted TV and fireplace, because I have my PC wired into my TV. It fit perfectly in the space without the side speaker shelves. I have a Fractal Design CORE 500 mini-ITX that fits on the lower shelf perfectly, but I could see frustrations with bigger PC's, but the shelves on the bottom are optional as well so this could be easily solved. My two 21.5 monitors fit nicely with a vesa mount and 2 speakers on the lower shelf, the raised monitor shelf is nice too to store small items underneath, such as my raspberry Pi. On the top shelf I have a Pioneer surround sound receiver and PS4 that both fit perfectly and are connected to the TV. The only real complaint is that I wish there were some cable management options, but that will later be dealt with with sleeves. The desk cutout is a nice touch for resting your arms, no more sore arms from playing games! I'm really impressed with this desk, it fits my needs amazingly, although I could see some issues if you have a bigger PC. Putting together was a bit more complicated than your usual ikea desk, but I didn't have any issues, it took me about an hour to complete with minimal help from a second person.5
Excellent productCCMarcPerfect for my space and very functional.5

Getting gaming right

If you’re not in to computer gaming yourself, perhaps you have children who are. Across the world, gaming is booming, and naturally IKEA should provide furniture designed for it. So how do players set up a game station to create that immersive gaming experience, what do they need to feel comfortable and supported while playing? When creating FREDDE desk we needed to know. How we found out? We asked a gamer.  Read More
David Wahl is not only one of our designers. He’s a gamer too. Of course he got the task. “When I started playing video games you'd have to make sure your friends were free, and someone’s house was free, then make your way down the street, console in hand to play,” David says. “Now, it's just as likely that you're playing with people in Shanghai or Sydney or Stockholm.”

Creating a gaming command central

One of the advantages of gaming's move beyond the TV or the family computer is that gamers are free to make a space customized to enjoy each game's full potential. “A big part of gaming is the immersive experience,” David says. “So my first move when designing FREDDE was to make a cut out in the desktop so that you could be closer to the screen and have almost a command central sort of feel, while also getting support for your arms at the same time.”

Made to be customized

FREDDE fits speakers, a 32" screen, or a couple of smaller screens on a height adjustable shelf. David also had a personal wish. “I used to love playing driving simulator games where you would often use pedals, the same as a car,” he says. “I always found it annoying if you had cables or other things in the way when you were driving so I made sure to design the desk with an unobstructed space for pedals on FREDDE.”

A designer's proudest moment

David is proud to see the gaming community making the desk their own. “If you do an image search for FREDDE it's fantastic to see how people are adapting it to create their own perfect game space, which is exactly in tune with what I hoped.”
