Wheels refuse to turnYvonneThe assembly was easy, and it looks good in the space I bought it for, but I can’t move around on it as the wheels are refusing to turn - all 5 wheels are impossible to turn. I thought at first maybe it was only when there was no weight on the chair, but I have tried everything, and even hold them in my hand they do not want to turn. Very disappointing.
And I saw the previous post above with the same problem, but cannot find the replacement parts online as the OP was advised to do.3
Not the sameErynneWe bought a black Flintan chair a number of years ago, and it has been great so I decided to buy another. The one I just received today does not have the same level of comfort. The backrest is too forward and the recline option is too stiff to lean back easily. It takes quite a bit of effort actually and I really have to engage my core muscles in my abdomen in order to stay reclined. The black one has a pillow in between the mesh for lumbar support, but my new one has 3 plastic bars instead. These are horrible. I like the look of the chair, but it is just not comfortable at all.2
Back too stiff, no adjustment knobChristineI would love this chair except for the fact that 1 of the 3 chairs we got has a very stiff back, making reclining difficult (no it is not locked, jut very very stiff).
I find it disconcerting that there is no tension adjustment knob like on most chairs. I will likely be returning this one since it is very uncomfortable to use.2
UncomfortableMakaylaAs one of their cheapest office chairs, I guess I should have expected the discomfort, but the high arch of the back makes my lower back ache, so I use a pillow for lumbar support. The seat itself is also quite firm. On it's lowest setting, my legs just fit under the Alex desk, which is fine, but it just means I cannot cross my legs in any way. 2
ComfortNahidGood value5
Very comfortable for a great priceBarryThis is my second Flintan. Solid and comfortable for a great price. Might even prefer it to my high-end Herman Miller5
Not designed for Tall peopleAdaobiI purchased this chair with back aches in mind, as a 5'11 "tall person. It felt good at first, but over the month, I started having back aches, and now I want to work anywhere else but not seated on this chair. Not valuable for a work chair at all.1
Easy to put togetherDebbieIt was easy to put together and moves easily around4
Back tilt is very stiff and has no adjustmentAnonymousErgonomically the chair is fine, with good lower back support, but the back tilt function is effectively useless since the spring is too stiff.Basically paying for a feature I cannot use, so its quite disappointing.2
wheels not rolling wellPeggyI purchased four of these office chairs back in September, and unfortunately, none of the wheels are rolling properly. We only noticed the issue after assembling all four chairs, which was really disappointing. Would it be possible to request a replacement for the wheels or the affected parts?1
Like this chairTeresaIt took me a long time to find an office chair and thank goodness this inexpensive one was on sale at IKEA when we went through. The only problem I have is one of the wheels does not like to roll as well as the others but otherwise like this chair.4
Great valueKendraBought this for my new place where my “office” is shared with my living room! Is comfortable and I appreciate the fact that there are no arms as I like to sit crossed legged 5
Great for a home officeKevinThis replaced a non-Ikea executive office chair that was too large for my current home office layout. The chair is comfortable, sturdy and well-made. A pleasant surprise, the wheels lock when no one is in the chair - still movable/slideable - and rolls normally when someone is in the chair. I would recommend it to anyone.4
A good chair but hard to roll from place to placeMartaThe chair is alright. Easy to assemble. A nice look. The wheels are stuck though and hardly move (no locking mechanism to unlock), and I'm not sure how long the seat will last because the foam changed its shape after being sat on the first time and it didn't change back, so there's a permanent dent. For the value, the chair is still fine. The washability of the seat and cover is definitely a plus (though for the back, the back itself needs to be unscrewed first ;) ).4
Sturdy, comfortable and easy to assembleAnonymousI assembled this chair in about 30 minutes. It's very comfortable and I like that there are no arms to bump into my desk, so I can roll my chair up close. The colour is perfect - a muted beige. I also love that the seat cover is washable. I love that the seat cover is fabric (and not imitation leather which eventually starts flaking off). The chair is easy to wheel around when I'm sitting on it, but it's hard to move if i'm just pushing the chair around (not sure if this is part of the design?). Anyway it was a great price for a great product5
Comfortable ArianeNot to easy to assemble 4
Blue trims ruined this for meCeciliaHad I seen this chair on display or had the color blue was visible when I saw it on my phone, I would not have bought it. Overall I like that the seat and back are removable and can be washed or easily replaced. 4
Nice Quality ChairJamieNice quality and appearance for a great price. Pairs perfectly with the AKERVINDEFLY chair pad.5
Flirting office chairDeborahVery comfy, firm, nice adjustable levels.
Like the no-rolling lock when not sitting5
Comfortable well made office chair.CraigI needed a new desk chair for my home office. The Flintan office chair is well made and appears to be very durable. Assembly was straight forward and relatively easy. It is a good value when compared to other office chairs I looked at.5
