The high amount of down in the filling makes the duvet light and fluffy.

The stitched inner walls retain the heat, giving you a warmer sleep environment.

Down and feathers are natural materials which helps to regulate body temperature and maintain comfort throughout the night.

The duvet is machine-washable at 60°C, a temperature that kills dust mites.

Cozy perfection MadeleineWe bought two of these, one of which was ostensibly for the guest room, but I’ve since nabbed it for myself - it’s so cozy! I would prefer it had a certification like the Responsible Down Standard, but I read the IKEA EU Down statement and it pledged no live plucking, so I hope that’s the case in Canada too. More transparency / accessible information on this would be welcome! 5

Perfect mid-weight comforterLouiseThis comforter is the perfect mid-weight, which is what we were seeking; not too heavy and not too light. There is a temperature scale on the bag, which indicates how warm the comforter will be. I chose the orange stripe, which was about 75% up the warmth scale. The fabric on the outside is a nice cotton. Inside is a blend of duck down and duck feathers; 75%/25% if I recall correctly. We purchased a queen size. 5

How to care for your down/feather duvet

With a little care, you can prolong the life of your down/feather duvet and keep it fresh. The filling has a natural smell which can be reduced by airing or washing. Wash the duvet separately with a mild detergent (1/3 of the normal amount) on delicate cycle at 60°C. Avoid bleach/fabric softeners. Tumble dry immediately on low heat. A dryer ball or a high-quality tennis ball in the dryer will ensure more efficient drying. Air your duvet regularly, if possible, in direct sunlight.
