The inner cushion may have a slight natural smell from the down and feathers. It’s harmless and fades over time. Airing or washing it and drying it thoroughly in a dryer helps the smell fade faster.

Not what they used to be…NicoleWe just invested in 8 of these and I was so excited as I loved how plump and full my previous ones were. I am disappointed enough to Google if they have changed their filler. Whatever they have done, was not an upgrade and it appears I am not the only unsatisfied customer.
Not the quality they previously wereCarlaThe fjadrar insert was always a go to for quality and a nice overstuffed cushion. Now they are limp and lifeless. It definitely seems that IKEA is trying to maintain the price by using shrinkflation as these definitely have less filling than they did in the past. I had hoped the last ones I purchased were just an anomaly, but I just opened 2 more, let them expand and fluff, but they are disappointing as well. Raise the price a few dollars, and maintain the quality please rather than decrease the quality.
Sad, flat, disappointingSusanFirst of all - I never buy feather anymore. You just can’t rely on the source and many places still tear the feathers from live ducks and chickens, who are kept alive for this purpose.
The acrylic fill in IKEA cushions these days is just terrible, and IKEA should be ashamed of themselves for selling them. The covers are great quality, so issue…so why on earth won’t they stock an insert of the same quality? I have no idea why there are so many positive reviews for the inserts….WHO is getting these great quality inserts? And where can I find them? The Sad Pillow quality has been declining for years - I used to get two inserts to fill the covers to the quality I like, but now that doesn’t work anymore. I am not tripling up. Do better, Ikea.
DisappointingKatyIf they had filled these pillows with more feathers they’d be great, but unfortunately as soon as you rest against them they flatten to nothing. I literally ordered two more, and put two pillows in each pillow case, but then that was too hard 🙄. Please save us the trouble and just put 1.5 times the feathers in the pillows and charge us 1.5 times the price.
Disappointed NaziaSad to say I'm truly disappointed with the newer cushions. The stuffing is Soo poor and Iooks really lumpy, can't even properly karate chop. These were my go to pillows and they used to really elevate that designer look but the new ones are not nearly as stuffed as the old ones I got 5 years back.

Not like they used to beEstherThey are definitely not like they used to be; placed an old Ikea feather inner cushion next to the new one and the old one is almost twice as lofty (after having had a few days to puff up). If I wanted the same poof with these inner cushions compared to my old Ikea ones, I would now need to use two inside a cushion cover; I remind myself that they were still only $10, so for the price I cant really complain - although would have been happy to pay more for the old ones.

Terrible EbunThis is such a disaster! Just in a few months my old use, the feathers are literally coming out and poking the skin even through a thick pillow cover. It's not fluffy, it makes a creaking noise, which is very irritating. There's absolutely nothing good about this pillow. Dunno, maybe I got a bad unit.
StenchAnyaI bought two of these a couple days ago and I threw them in the wash, EXACTLY how directed on the tag. While I was switching them to the dryer, I noticed an awful, putrid stench of what seemed to be way too similar to duck/bird fecal matter, I nearly threw up. I have no idea how to deal with this and I’m so disappointed since they are not super cheap and neither are the covers. I was looking forward to using these in my home and now I’m left feeling very disappointed and frustrated. How do I get rid of the pungent and nauseating odour?

UnderfilledAdrianThe same cushion from 2 years ago looks much better stuffed than the new one. The brand new one doesn't keep its shape anymore. Returning is a big headache, the store being so far away and they make it really difficult to get a pick up.
