Ridiculoussheila196I brought an almost new Fabrikor display cabinet to Toronto from Halifax. Unfortunately, in the move, the two glass shelves got broken. I wanted/needed to replace but am now informed my only option is to buy an entire brand new unit. Which makes no sense as it still renders the orignal one useless. There is no option to replace the GLASS breakable shelves for a DISPLAY cabinet that is otherwise in perfect condition. Oh... and the customer service suggested that I drop by the as is part of my Ikea store daily in hopes that some random shelves just show up. Just ridiculous. I now have a display cabinet that cannot display anything.1
Gorgeous but Be Careful!MisslissmI had my beautiful Fabrikor case for over a year before one of the glass panels spontaneously shattered at 3:00am, covering my entire living room in tiny pieces of glass. This case was used for display only and was rarely touched.1
Good looking display caseDon008Comes with two shelves, and clips for more. Asked if extra shelves were available, but told no, I would have to get extras cut myself. Went to a glass store and found out these are 3 mm ground edge glass. Very light for support. If this is the case they could of given three, as there is more than enough room for another. Expensive frame for two light weight shelves.2

Material

What is glass?

Glass is mainly made of sand, soda and lime melted at a high temperature. Tempering or various additives gives you extra-strong and impact-resistant glass that in some cases can be taken straight from freezer to oven without cracking. A big benefit is how glass can be recycled over and over without the quality deteriorating. Also, a lot less energy is needed to melt recycled glass compared to new raw materials. Our goal is to eventually use only recycled glass in our range.

"When I designed FABRIKÖR glass-door cabinet I was inspired by industrial furniture from the early 20th century, especially the so-called medical cabinets, where medicine and medical supplies were kept. It’s a piece of furniture that’s robust, sturdy and breathes quality – and its soft, rounded corners also make it beautiful. Since the cabinet has glass on all sides, it's perfect for displaying your favorite things. It works just as well as a glass-door cabinet in the living room as for storing beautiful handbags or jewelry in the bedroom."
