Hard to Install SafelyAnonymous reviewerI purchased 2 - 24" and 2 - 12" upper cabinets. At the top back of cabinets are one support that you would drill through and into the studs to secure them to the wall. Problem is a 24" and a 12" cabinet do not line up with 16" on centre studs, hence the cabinets can only be secured to one stud at top. However if Ikea provided a bottom bar, you would be able to secure the cabinet to the same stud at the top and bottom to the wall. I contacted support to purchase this item, however Ikea does not have these available to purchase nor as part of their missing parts program. I was told to go to the hardware store and buy my own. Funny though at the bottom of the cabinets the holes are pre-drilled for a 2nd bar to secure the cabinets to the wall. This is a safety concern and I would not recommend this item unless your builder put studs closer together than 16" on centre. Ikea should mention they don't line up with studs and therefore cannot be properly secured safely.
Fine cabinet, horrible hingeAnonymousBought three cabinets (two of them with matching doors, one with open shelves). Cabinets are fine. Assembly is easy, construction is sturdy. The problem is with the hindges they come with. They are not clip-on and are not soft close. In the end, I had to throw them all out and replace them with 8 HJALPA hinges (that are at least dampened).
