Disappointing Build QualityLincolnBeing a shorter person, I like having a footrest at my desk. I really like the style of this one, and the easily movable foot platform is quite nice. Based just on appearance and function, this should be an easy 5 stars, however...
This is the first Ikea product I've bought that immediately felt questionable as I was assembling it. The metal tubes do not fit snugly together, where the inserts on the bottom parts that slide into the top curves feels way too small, leaving it wobbly. I figured that would be fine if I could just tighten up the hardware and make it solid, but no. The screws are very weak and the head strips out with barely any force. The acorn nuts have very loose starting threads, making it easy to accidentally cross-thread them.
I was able to salvage this piece by using thicker, stronger screws and nuts that I thankfully had on hand from previous projects.
CracksAnonymous reviewerI have one of these from about 5 years ago. They are fine and among the cheapest available in this kind of thing, but I wish they came with a solid piece of wood or stronger plastic. Although they survive the normal pressure of feet, it's easy to accidentally put too much weight on them and crack the plastic. Once they begin to crack, it's all downhill.
However, given the price and functionality (I like that they allow wires to run underneath), I am considering buying a new one despite this flaw.
Dagotto: Easy To AssembleReeseThe Dagotto footrest is an effective way to elevate one's feet when a desk/keyboard tray/chair setting is too high. It only took minutes to assemble. However, it does take some effort to completely tighten the nut and bolt so the u-shaped legs do not rattle against the v-shaped pieces that the footrest is placed on. We purchased two units are everyone with pleased with its function.

bad qualityAnonymous2 major issues: 1) The foot rest slides unless you place it against the wall or your feet have to more right above the foot rest... if you have it at an angle like most people would have, it slides sometimes. 2) Once I placed my feet somewhere near the middle of the foot rest, it broke and cracked in the middle. I weight about 140 pounds BTW.
