Good if you want to put holes in shower wallsMarkBought this expecting a way to secure to wall with suction cups. It's a drill into wall operation so if you're good with screws to secure then it's good. Made me very nervous at first but decided to do since tub surround is old and we will save to replace.3

Great little shower shelfTomPaulThe shelf is perfect as a permanent fixture. It was easy to install, but Ikea does not provide mounting screws. You need to find the right wall mounting screws for your wall and maybe consider some silicone to prevent water penetration behind the screws.4

Great item at a fantastic priceMadam_CGI just moved into my first house and the main bathroom is tiiiiiiinnny, that being said the there is limited space for storage and the bathtub had no wall kit or wide enough ledge for bottles so I purchased two of these one for each end of the tub at ear level and they have made a world of a difference holding about four tall bottles, 4-5 shorter bottles like shaving gel or leave in conditions and my loofahs razors etc. The hooks are great for hanging my wet comb or bath suits if I handwash them and they stainless steel states to be rust resistant. Honestly I looked at getting a tension caddy but even the cheapest ones I found that could hold as much as one of these were around $100, and I got this on sale for $19.99. Great deal, easy to put together you just need two mounting & anchor screws to drill into the wall. So far so good, hopefully it doesn’t rust5

A good looking, solid, corner unitIkea shopper 724For the price, this is a fantastic, solid, corner shelf unit. It DOES need to be installed with screws (and anchors). If you're going through tile, be sure to use drill bits meant for tile (and keep it wet while drilling). I used some clear caulking around the screws while mounting the unit, to be sure water wouldn't penetrate around the anchors, and to keep the screws from rusting over time. I also used a thin bead of caulking down the arms of the unit, to hold them in place once mounted. The result is a shelf that is very solid, and can handle your large shampoo bottles, as well as your bum hitting it when you bend over in the shower. It's a bit more work to install this thing, compared to a pole mounted shelf unit, but it's worth it.5

Harmony in the bathroom, one detail at a time

The bathroom is a vital part of the home, but it is often small, cluttered and improvised. Okan Demirci, one of our product developers, knows this first-hand. So when starting working on VOXNAN and BROGRUND bathroom accessories, his aim was to help make bathroom life a little easier. The difficult part was to find common needs among different people. That’s where Okan’s many colleagues came in handy.

Several of them were invited to a workshop. They all had different homes and life situations. Some were Swedes who lived in houses in the woods. Others were from Italy and France. Some lived alone, and others with a partner or children.

Working together to find common bathroom needs

For an entire day, they examined people’s frustrations and dreams, including their own. One of the participants was Luca Battistelli who has been with IKEA since 1992. ”I’m not a product development expert,” Luca says, “but you bring your own experience. Some things can be very specific to a person or country, but it’s easier to find things in common than things that are very different.”

Designing little details that make life better

Two designers worked together to solve the challenges identified in the workshop. Take the clutter from lack of space to hang things. Our towel holders already save space with swiveling bars, but they added bars that extend for more tidiness. And what about shared bathrooms? VOXNAN and BROGRUND have styles you can mix and match so everyone’s happy. The accessories have identical wall brackets, too, so if your style or needs change, you can easily swap things without making new holes. ”It’s not a revolution,” Okan says. “It’s just the little details that can help people turn their bathroom chaos into harmony.”

What is stainless steel?

Stainless steel is found in everything from building structures and cars to sinks and knives. It’s easy to see why it has so many uses. Stainless steel is hard and durable and has good resistance to corrosion – namely rust. It generally has a low nickel content, and for IKEA products we mainly use stainless steel that’s nickel-free. Like many other metals, it can be recycled again and again to become new, hardwearing things – without losing its valuable properties.
