BRIMNES Bookcase, blackFranciscoI had previously purchased a Brimnes bookcase, and was very satisfied with it, especially the two low drawers. Now I have two idental bookcases which complement the space.
Poor Drawer FitAnibalI'm a little disappointed. The drawers don't close completely; they remain slightly open and leave a noticeable gap.
Just what I was looking forMelindaA tall and slender, affordable, sturdy bookcase with drawers underneath the shelving rather than double doors - just what I needed and was having difficulty finding! Easy to assemble by myself. My only concern was that the longer of the two boxes wouldn’t fit in my vehicle - thankfully, it just did fit but smaller/shorter vehicles beware! Only change made was swapping out the drawer pulls (96mm is a match for others looking to do the same). Solid purchase.

Should not be sold as a bookcase. Extremely poor quality.AnonymousI have had 2 of these bookshelves for a few years now. Very soon after the purchase I noticed the outward bowing of the vertical sides, although shelves were never overloaded. Yes I keep books on them, it is marketed and sold as a bookcase. But I never went over weight capacity per shelf. Yes, both units are secured to the wall. As of now, the shelves are finally falling out, the vertical bowing is that bad. Also, the shelf support pins are an absolute joke.
Do yourself a favour and save yourself a headache down the road and skip this embarrassingly low quality item. It's probably my worst and most regretted ever IKEA purchase.
Bought 3 created a wall of storage!AlexI had used the online room builder to picture three of these up against a wall. I am impressed with the amount of storage space and organization that I have gained in my small 8x9 office. These units are all side by side and many have commented about how I have a very impressive wall unit behind me while on calls. When I was thinking of purchasing this, it was key to know how tall the units are, as I don't have a consistent ceiling height due to HVAC structures. After looking at this in the room builder I made the decision and I look back and can't be happier about the end result. Shelf strength and adjustability was another consideration, and the unit is holding up really well with the weight of books that I have on it as well as other display items and bookshelf speakers.

What is particleboard?
