It's still the same in look but they changed the sliders on the drawers, significantly shortening them for some reason. OkSharonI like the look and the size of the drawers, when assembling the dresser the instructions were not very clear on how to place certain pieces. Which led me to unscrew some pieces and the wood is very soft for the drawers. And some pieces were damaged because of the constant unscrewing ,the only solution ikea gave me was to return one box and they would replace it. That would mean taking apart the dresser and also remembering which pieces went in which box. IKEA needs to come up with a better solution and just replace the broken pieces and not the entire or half of the dresser since it came in 2 boxes.3

Drawers dont open as wide as they used to MeganMost of these bad reviews are due to the new design. The rating of this model is now inflated since the older design is what people wanted. If you make a new design of something it's misleading to take advantage of the good reviews the old design had. Ikea do better this is unethical and such an inconvenience 1
Disappointed in BrimnesSimoneI've bought and assembled many pieces of furniture from Ikea but this product by far was the most disappointing. During assembly I had quite a few pieces of the dresser break or crack. But I gave it a chance and went in store and spoke to a customer representative about a broken piece and I was able to get a replacement piece but once completed I didn't have the confidence that this dresser would last. I'm probably going to return this dresser as per the 90 day policy as I'm very unsatisfied. The quality of Ikea products seem to have changed over the years. For reference I actually have the brimnes side table for the last 4 years and it's still holding up including after 2 moves.1
Edges not finished ToniI’d have rated higher but there was too much exposed composite wood on them so they can’t be moved on carpet which is very inconvenient when you live alone and it chips easily as do the edges where the exposed parts are. Also needs soft close drawers3

And if you do not use glue while putting this together, it won’t last long at all… From the laminated cardboard, wood, to the plastic fasteners that secure the panels together This thing honestly maybe is worth $150 max!! I’ve bought IKEA furniture before and put it together for myself, the solid wood stuff .. but this is laughable honestly… I know it’s cheap but for this price, the quality and construction could be better! 1
Terrible Drawers and Cheap QualityVeronikaThe new model of this dresser is terrible. They changed the track size, much shorter so drawers only open half way. The drawers in the older model fully open so it is much easier to put in and take out clothes. Quality isn’t great either. Everytime I open a drawer, a piece of fiberboard would chip off. DON’T buy! Would not recommend this product to anyone. 1

Furniture tipping over is one of the home furnishing industry's most serious safety issues and we’ll never stop working on innovative stability solutions for our storage furniture. A tip-over accident can happen when you least expect it. It could be someone using a drawer as support to stand up or children climbing to reach something on top. But no one can predict all the scenarios that everyday living at home can create. That’s why the best way to avoid tipping accidents is to always anchor the furniture to the wall. But we also offer new stability solutions that help make our storage furniture safer. One example is our stability feature Anchor and Unlock. "It means that the chest of drawers must be anchored to a wall to be able to open more than one drawer at a time, which reduces the risk of tipping, but doesn’t entirely remove it. By anchoring the chest of drawers to the wall, you unlock the drawers and can open them all at once," says Björn Andreasson from the development team. Another way we increase stability is to integrate it into the design. "With GREÅKER cabinet with drawers, for example, we´ve developed hinges that stop the doors at a 115-degree angle and keep them there to reduce the risk of tipping," says product developer Dagmara Pawlus. IKEA of course meets all safety requirements in our markets, but we don’t just settle for this. We often set higher demands than what legislation requires to help people enjoy a better everyday life – in a safer home.
