Glass displayDevorahGood appearance, but the instructions to build was not clear or easy to understand compared to the other items I bought before
Faulty assemblyWilliamWhen I saw the low rating, I thought it was because people found it to be a disappointing successor to the DETOLF. But I discovered that the holes are drilled too small for the screws to go in, in step 20 of the instructions. I'm unable to finish the assembly for this reason, and I'm severely disappointed that this seems to be a common problem on the production end. Please do your research before buying this product, I've personally come to regret it.
Dissapointing assemblyAndrewI found the assembly of this unit fairly typical of ikea products of which I have assembled many. However the instructions could certainly be clearer on a few points. The most maddening is the 2nd last step when trying to screw magnets into the door, the included screws get stuck halfway into the door even when using the correct small pz1 screw driver which I happen to own. I cannot get any of the 3 more than halfway in. And if I strip the screw, there are no spares.
I suggest you pass in this display model and look at others.

Nice cabinetAnnPutting it together was easy until it came to putting in the screws for the glass shelves! I ended up giving the cabinet to my neighbor because I was so frustrated and disappointed in this unit. This is the first time I have ever had a problem assembling an Ikea purchase.
Looks good but rickety and cheapSimonCompared to the double-wide MILSBO, this cabinet is pretty shaky whenever you open the magnetic door. For attaching the magnets with screws, I didn't have the magic screwdriver mentioned in the manual, so I needed to expand the holes with a drill first. The cabinet stands at a slight angle and AFAIK there is no way to fix this unless I were to install angle brackets. This is apparent when the door is closed and you can see the corner of the door not aligned with the corner of the cabinet.
decent cabinetMan LongIt's easy enough to put together by myself, but the clips for the shelves are really difficult to install and the screws for attaching the magnets does not fit. I had to use a drill to tap the holes for the screws to fit. Anyway at $99 it's decent for its price
BRING BACK DETOLFChristopherI was sad to see that detolf wasn't available anymore, especially when I got these back and saw the much poorer quality and disaster to disassemble. Please bring back Detolf's

Can't install shelves ShaneAs others have noted, the clips for the shelves are impossible to install. There wasn't enough clearance initially for the clips. Then I realized that the holes for the screws are either too small or have paint in them. I will need to tap the holes first and hope that resolves the issue.
For 3 shelves spaced 2 sections apart leaves an awkward gap at bottom. The cabinet looks stunted when placed between a pair of Billy bookcases.
This cabinet doesn't live up to the Lego easy assembly that I expect from IKEA.
Detolf is better than this! MikeThis is simply an inferior product to the Detolf. This is smaller and does not allow you to see everything in the cabinet as clearly. We need the Detolf back!

Straight trashDillvinI bought my cabinet today and those bloody magnetic screws have me ready to refund this cabinet alone added to the fact my cabinet had nicks on it right out of the box and the hinges were uneven this is my first purchase from ikea and its probably I've been in a long time. If i could include images i would as well
Helpful tipsSimonIf you're displaying figures or fragile collectibles, the door magnets are too strong.
If you want to affix the magnets, use superglue. Don't waste time fighting screw holes that are too small for them.
Place a board or two under the front feet to very slightly tilt the case back. That way, the door stays shut without magnets.
Also do this if the case is on carpet, otherwise the bottom of the door will catch as it is very low.
When positioning the shelf brackets, pop the little nub into the small hole above the screw hole to align and position properly.
When you place the glass shelves in, check they are fully seated in all four corners, as they may not immediately do so.
Review: great case! Elegant, fairly easy to build. Worth buying!
Just an ok alternative to DetolfYannickI already had 2 Detolf and I was going to buy one more but it’s now discontinued… sad. So I had to turn to Blaliden. Bought 2 this afternoon and they built ok. However, the screws for the magnets are almost impossible to screw. Stripped the head on 2 of them and almost broke the door when the screwdriver slipped. It’ll still close with 2 magnets on each cabinets. A huge down side is not being able to buy extra shelves from Ikea. I’ll have to find a file for the brackets and print them myself then get some glass cut to size.

Waste of moneyChrisThis is a complete downgrade to the previous product. Nothing goes together correctly. The screws that keep the magnets to the door are either the wrong screw or they didn't cut the holes correctly
