Cannot install glass shelf with bookcase doors attached, due to the terrible shelf pin design. Had to install 40 of these shelves, took the better part of an entire day! One of Ikea's worst designed products.1

The Billy glass shelf fits great. LouiseThe Billy glass shelf fits great on the newer Billy bookcase but the older model bookcase, the holes are to big for the screws that come with the shelf. The bar code sticker is dificult to remove.4

Loving my new BillySusanMy ikeas order arrived with two new Billy's. I now have five glass fronted billy bookcases with top extensions and totally love them. I had lights wired and swapped out the mdf shelves for glass ones, thus elevating the affordable Ikea look to a high end and custom look. Knowing glass shelves were available would be good for other purchasers. And so easy for this 70 year old woman to assemble. I watched a YouTube video before assembly and put them together and secured them to the wall in no time without help from my husband. 5
Billy, extra shelvesFredI was a little disappointed with the product this time. They had been out of stock when I first looked for them. When I found them back in stocks a week later I grabbed two without inspecting them. Both had minor imperfections in the back top corner. Once installed the imperfections were covered in books so I retained them. I also found the price high for a 14 x 10 inch shelf.3
