Glass topShirleyIf anyone purchases this besta unit make sure to purchase the glass top. It's amazing & saves the top of the unit.
Worse Then I thoughtAndrewI knew going in that Ikea no longer provides Clear or Pure White glass tops. However I was stuck buying this as they only offer the full glass (no cable cut out) in black, but I have a full white cabinet. The green tint is very noticeable and its offputting. Unfortunetly since Ikea moved the Besta from solid wood to the cardboard wood I have to have glass on top as I can see waves in the top from the cardboard construction. So I was buying this knowing I would be partially disappointed but I am double disappointed now due to the cheap quality the green tint gives my 4 wide besta cabinet. I am stuck as I can't return it as I need to cover the nasty swirls/waves the cardboard top makes. Grrrr annoying. I also really can't understand why they don't offer a full glass piece without cutouts and only offer that in black it makes absolutely no sense.
Difficult to mount on wall but worth the effortGillianI LOVE the look of this shelving unit and it was easy to assemble. However, the 3 attachement points available were not ideal. The middle of the 3 points was not actually the centre of the shelf, but maybe an 1.5-2 inches away from the true centre. This made it impossible to centre the shelf on my wall and hit any studs. Keep in mind too that no screws were provided to mount on a wall. My workaround was to remove the thin back panels and add two 10-inch L brackets inside the shelf, mounted to two studs. It was extra work but it feels nice and secure and we love the addition to the room. If you don't plan to mount this on a wall, I recommend it easily. If you want it on the wall, just be aware that you may run into this issue and need to get creative.
Very niceSergioI’m very happy with my purchase
