Product details
The suspension rail functions as a reinforcement to make it easier and safer to mount the BESTÅ frame to the wall.
The rail has several holes for attaching it directly to a stud.
You can easily hang several frames next to each other and align them at exactly the same height thanks to the included connector.

Not great, gap when adding extension RyanNot a great design, 1 cm gap in final build with extension. Unclear instructions left a sour taste and no matter how many time tried to fix could not get rid of gap.

Works well BrianI bought 5 of these rails to mount some older Besta cabinets to my wall. Two of the cabinets are 47" and one is 36". There was a bit of modification needed to all three cabinets because they didn't have the holes for the end pieces that allow the units to hang on the rails. For the 36" cabinet I had to cut one rail in two to make it work. I was surprised at how strong the metal is. Also, the pieces that are used to join the rails to eachother so the spacing is correct are really helpful.
As far as installation goes, I found that having a 4' level, wall anchors and some shims really helped. My place is super old so the walls are not straight so shims came in handy to help align everything.
All in all they worked as I expected and the cabinets look great mounted to my wall under my tv.
Terrible product unnecessarily difficult for the intended use. MichaelThis wall mount bracket is not made to work with North American 16” on centre wood wall studs. Save yourself trouble and use a French Cleat. I would have liked to have had much better instructions with accurate measurements for mounting the bracket on the wall so that everything could be positioned correctly for the cabinets to be butted flush to each other, level and the cabinet would actually slot into the bracket. IKEA instructions should also include what screws are best for at least 2 or three mounting scenarios based on the most typical types of wall construction. In general I think IKEA products look good and are serviceable but not being manufactured to be mounted securely on 16” on centre wood studs for the North American market and the provision of instructions that seem intended to drive purchasers towards paying for installation is extremely off putting. I turn to IKEA rarely for cabinetry because of just how frustrating working with their products can be.

Mounting the Besta on theTaylorMounting the Besta on the wall and hiding the wiring for the lights required some creativity, a few specific tools, and know-how, in order to get a clean look. None of which is provided or included in the instructions. If you aren’t handy, get a professional to install it.
bestaAnonymous reviewerthere is a gap from the ceiling, if the rail allow to slide besta in place instead hanging, thst would be perfect. Now also looks good, and am happy for the product.
