Not as stable as the older versionLisaWe still like the Besta line but they’re not as stable as the older units we have from 12 years ago. After assembling this one, the cabinet shifted every time we moved it (i.e., the corners do not stay square). We had to buy some corner braces from the local hardware store and install these in the corners at the back to make the cabinet stable. The only other option would have been to secure the cabinet to the wall, which we did not want to do. We don’t have children who would climb on the unit so tipping is not a problem for us. The older Besta units were designed to be free-standing and could be placed in the middle of a room. The new Besta units are too unstable for this, without reinforcements. We gave it 4 stars but only because we couldn’t give 3.5 stars.4
Perfect!DianeWe purchased this with the glass door and glass shelves. It was easy to put together and displays some family tea cups perfectly!5

Good product but short on assembly screwsSounakTheres a shortage of cam lock [123492], [119030], [130449] and washer in my package. Ordered it through a third party website and now they dont fit. Checked ikea website and they are not available as spare parts.1
Perfect fit DebIt was exactly as described and worked perfectly in our bar area to keep all collectibles dust free and on display5
BestaKathleenBesta is by far the best shelving units I ever purchased. I have a lot of different combinations of Besta shelving styles in my home.5
easy peasyJoannGot two of them. Put together in no time. This time it will be wall mount. Thanks Ikea5
A good solid product!RichardVery pleased. It went together very easy. When I was done it felt very solid. And we liked the no handle feature and the door closing fittings. We had never used these features. I did take extra time when I was putting it together to make sure it was square and level.5
WobblyJeffThe frame is very wobbly. The entire thing shifts about 6-10mm under the weight of the doors that IKEA sells. 1
Beautiful!AlejandraGot 3 of these for the bar in my basement, with the glass doors. They look so beautiful and elegant. Installing takes time, but its so worth it.5
Terrible quality and very unstable.CesarI put this together and it was loose and shifted despite tightening the fasteners. When I attached the front doors, it made it worse. I had go to the hardware store and purchase right angle brackets and fasten them inside the top and bottom of the cabinet to keep it from falling apart. I would have returned it if it wasn't such a hassle to take apart. Looks good from afar, but far from good quality in this case.1
Same old same oldMichaelThe door installation and alignment is the most time-consuming and disappointing portion of any IKEA build using hinged doors. The frame is perfectly square across two planes but the hinges never really align the doors properly. 3

Poor quality of assembly hardware - fit and finishPatrickPurchased a Besta storage unit and will echo the written concerns. The cam locks, which were made of metal and would grab the metal pin, tighten, and lock it in place, are now made of lightweight plastic. They deform easily and are unable to tighten the joints, which results in the frame being loose. This makes squaring/leveling the doors frustrating. When you apply pressure on the hinge adjustment screws, the side piece moves out of square. Found some metal cam locks at Home Depot which helped but still some movement. The common reply theme is to return the item. Not everyone lives in the same city as the IKEA outlet. Maybe they had it shipped or traveled a distance (as I did) to purchase it. Are they suggesting that the item be shipped back? Or spend time and money to return a product which, by number of poor reviews, doesn't meet expectations? Appearance of the piece is fine. What is lacking is the assembly hardware e.g. cam locks and their impact on how the product works. 2
Too flimsy and poorly engineeredDinoI recently had to replace 4 of these Besta frames due to a flood in our house, and I feel like the quality has gone significantly downhill since I last bought them in 2021. They are now incredibly flimsy and they don't stay squared and leveled when you install a door. The root problem is a poorly-fit back panel which simply slides in without any reinforcement. No bracing, no brackets. The back panel slides around too easily. I cannot recommend this product until they solve these issues. I'm driving to IKEA tonight to see what solutions they will offer. I'm not optimistic.2
Don't waste your moneyKrystalDon't waste your money on a besta cabinet. Holes strip easily along the frame making adding doors impossible to stripped screw holes. Doors sag and eventually door hinge holes strip and doors fall off. I spent 800$ and have had a besta cabinet combination for 9 months. 3 doors have fallen off where the hinge holes stripped and one side of the cabinet holes are stripped so a door can no longer be attached. Absolute garbage. 1
Rickety garbageTigeIt's extremely difficult to align a combination of drawers and doors. Looks like a misaligned mess. The hinges are garbage and the screws lock up. Apparently this is a problem that has existed for many years and they refuse to fix.1
Sturdy beautiful cabinetAmberOnly issue was that when I read specifications thr measurements didn't include the door for depth. So I had to change location of this beautiful piece. Again which is fine. I absolutely love where it is
It's colours are modern and it's size it perfect.

Mediocre QualityHeatherLooks nice but disappointed with the quality for the price. Glued seams are visible at the front of each bookshelf, room for improvement with sturdiness. Definitely not constructed as well as shelving from 10 years ago. 3
Great base, multiple possibilities.RenataBought 4 and one of the bases had slightly miss drilled holes. It made impossible to level the cab door. Had to reverse the door swing.4
