Bad mounting hardwareTylerThe nature of this fixture requires it to be aligned over where you want it to be. For example you probably want it running parallel over the length of your dinning room table.
The problem is that the mounting plate for the ceiling uses a hook that is not adjustable. If your electrical box on the ceiling does not have the existing screw holes aligned already with the ones on the plate, then you can’t mount this. The hook won’t be in line with where you want it to be.
In our case, ours was out of alignment by 45 degrees. You either have to move the electrical box or find a different way to mount it on the ceiling.
The other issue is that the plate is meant to be mounted flush with the ceiling. If your electrical box is not flush with the ceiling, you’ll have issues getting it to fit properly. This also relates to how the fixture allows you to adjust the height of where the hook sits on the fixture which in theory you shouldn’t need if the plate could be mounted flush.

Be aware that the inside of each shade is metallic. The trouble is that it’s not really a gold colour and it’s not really a copper color. It’s definitely a harsh brass color.
I’ve tried lots of different lightbulbs in the shades and I really can’t get them to look, soft and gentle.
It looks quite harsh.
I have considered taking each shade off and spray painting the inside with a bright white. I really want to love this fixture, but I cannot get it to look good.

Great pool table lightChrisWe bought this to instal for a pool table that is soon to be delivered. My only hesitations were that it wouldn't hang low enough and the other reviewer's comments about the hook not being adjustable. Since the description for height only says 11" and cord length at 2'4", we were hoping that is wrong and went to the store to check it out. The one in the showroom was 44", verifying that the description is in fact not accurate. We needed 48" and decided to take a chance that there is more cord in the top housing. There is plenty. Approximately 12" more, so you could probably get 5' overall from ceiling to bottom of shade. As for the installation, it is a brilliant design in that you hang the light on the hook of the hinged plate assembly eliminating the need for 3 hands while doing the wiring. The issue with the hook direction was easily solved by gently turning it with pliers. That's not in the instructions so took care not to force/break it. Very happy with this purchase!
Simple and elegantTracyReally like the design, looks so nice over my kitchen island. Soft and warm light. Installing might be tricky as it took an hour and half for 2 people, with all proper tools.
Difficult!LynzeeThe hook on the plate to attach the bracket to does not move, so you can only hang this light in one direction, depending on your wiring in the ceiling vs the layout of your room. It cannot be swiveled to hang a different way from your ceiling if need be.
Also, the gold-type finish on the inside of the domes comes off very easily - beware.

What is aluminium?
