These chairs were the perfect size, design, and price to fill a spot in my home. Comfort wasn’t a factor in my purchase, but these chairs are surprisingly comfortable and sturdy too and have ended up being frequently used and enjoyed.

Nor quite identical to the Agen of old but my new ones blend well with the old ones and if they give the same long service I'll be happy. The cushions are a tad thinner than of yore but I guess that's the accountants shaving the millimetres :)

Material

What is rattan?

Rattan is a climbing plant belonging to the palm tree family. It grows as a vine on tree trunks, its fast-growing tendrils easily reaching 60, and sometimes more than 300, feet long. They can be harvested without harming the host trees and grow back quickly once harvested. We use this lightweight, flexible and durable material in products like armchairs, rocking chairs, side tables, outdoor furniture and for handmade baskets.
