Chairs moldy after 1 rain showerLisaAll 4 chairs discoloured with speckles of dark mildew/mold after it rained. I've only had these chairs for 2 months (bought in Calgary) and they sat on covered deck for a very dry August and September here in BC. Why wasn't there a warning not to use outdoors? Aren't rattan and wicker materials supposed to be pre-treated with an anti-fungal agent by the manufacturer before they are woven? Cleaning them to remove the black spots has proven impossible. I love IKEA products so this is heartbreaking. I have 2 much older IKEA wicker chairs that have a light lacquer finish and they've had no mold or mildew issues handling rain. Highly disappointed!

I want to love it…..JanThis is my second Agen. It has a nice tropical look placed in a small reading area with a round wicker (vintage Ikea) ottoman and a potted palm. However, it’s not very comfortable to sit and read for any length of time and it’s so high that my feet barely touch the floor, which feels really odd. Also, it’s incredibly light in weight so it slides around on the hardwood floor. But it looks great!
I bought it in the “as is” section at a significantly reduced price so I have to take that into consideration. The other one I own is used as a guest bedroom chair on carpet so it works just fine.

A cute chairJingjingI like the material (rattan and bamboo). It is natural and is cool in the summer. My husband complained about the uneven of the surface. This will be solved if there is a cushion on the top. Unfortunately, there is only one color for the matching cushion. It's not the desirable one (light pink)

Bad quality chairAnonymousI got this chair back in March because I wanted to have bamboo like furniture in my apartment. The chair is not comfortable even with cushion I got for it. Now after around two months of daily normal use, the chair is not holding up. When seating, the legs start stretching to the point the height is not the same. I will request a refund. The quality of this chair is not acceptable. Not to mention that Ikea did not deliver it with my normal order and I had to wait 4 more days to get it delivered.

What is rattan?
Rattan is a climbing plant belonging to the palm tree family. It grows as a vine on tree trunks, its fast-growing tendrils easily reaching 60, and sometimes more than 300, feet long. They can be harvested without harming the host trees and grow back quickly once harvested. We use this lightweight, flexible and durable material in products like armchairs, rocking chairs, side tables, outdoor furniture and for handmade baskets.
