The ÄLGANÄS series has a slim and airy design with bold and playful shapes – and smart and simple functions.

More space for your things. Enjoy lots of storage options in such a small area that not even the narrowest of hallways feels too cramped.

The shoe shelves can be positioned horizontally or diagonally, and by tilting them you can store larger size shoes in less space.

When diagonal, the shelf should be positioned with the small edge facing up to keep the shoes in place. When horizontal, the shelf can be positioned either way depending on your preference.

Made of powder-coated metal which is easy to clean and is a durable material suitable for storing outdoor clothes and shoes.

The black powder coating has a soft sheen to highlight the bold and playful lines.

Good to know

Holds approximately 12 pairs of shoes on the shelves.

With an Allen key, you can quickly adjust the bolts to position the shelves horizontally or vertically.

Can be used in areas with high humidity such as bathrooms and balconies, but should not be directly exposed to water from, for example, a shower or rain.

Smart space saver, useless in PracticeNeThe space-saving design earns it three stars, but that’s where the praise ends. The functionality is appallingly bad. The guardrails are too short for adult shoes—a baffling oversight. I'm not a shoe rack designer, but it's pure common sense that this could be fixed by simply securing the heel and leaving the other side open. Shoes without heels? Forget it, they'll slide right off without a proper bottom rail. This is a great idea ruined by a complete absence of basic, practical thought. While inexpensive, it fails at its one job.3
Space savingNicolePerfect for behind the door in a small dorm room! It holds nine pairs of average sized ladies shoes. Not sure it would hold larger shoes or any type of boots though.5
Great shoe rackPattyIt was sturdier than I expected and holds more shoes than I assumed it would. You have an option of it slanting or straight across, depending on where you place your screws. And it is not hard to put together. You will be pleased you purchased it.5
Boot tray DOES fit! but not how you expectAxiomI loved the look of this shoe rack but I was a bit bummed that it didn't work with IKEA's existing shoe tray. Reviews that say so are correct in the sense that you can't put this shoe rack on top of the shoe tray. You can however slide the shoe tray on top of the base to collect any dirt and grime that may slide off your shoes. Sort of like a crumb tray in a toaster. I actually prefer it like this as it prevents the base from getting covered in salt or dirt! 5
Bummer it doesn't work with your boot tray!DarOkay little rack, pretty flimsy compared to the wood and steel ones, but fine for smaller spaces. After seeing it in store I considered buying it, until... What a shame you didn't bother to design it to fit on the BAGGMUCK boot tray you have sold forever! Your other shoe racks fit nicely either straddled over the tray or placed within it to catch wet drips and dirt, but this one is too long to fit within and too shallow to go over it depthwise, so they can't be used together! Glad I figured that out in store when I tried them all out so I could figure out a different solution. This rack for its price (only $5 less than the far superior sturdiness of the TJUSIJ) just isn't worth the purchase.2
