Hardware was missingNatalieI think my shelf could be lovely, but it arrived with only one attachment piece and two screws. Its supposed to have four. So I cannot install it. I have pictures to prove it, but also the review site won't let me.
Avoid this oneShaneBesta with glass doors and shelves looks nice but I had multiple problems, quite unusual for Ikea.
-Label residue could not be removed. After a lot of effort with dish soap, cooking oil and a razor blade I can still see residue and the outline of the barcode label. Why?
-Shelf supports are terribly unfriendly, you need to back out a setscrew to the last thread to install the screw that mounts the bracket. Very fiddly time consuming and unnecessarily complicated.
-Lastly you can't install or remove the shelves once you install doors, they interfere. I had to remove the doors before I could place the shelves. Because the system has instructions with each component there is no way to know this in advance.
Grrrr.
The Stated Measurements Are IncorrectKelleyThe description states the measurements are 56cm x 36cm. They are actually 56.2cm x 35.6cm. It doesn't state the measurement is an approximate amount.
Good....BarbaraI love the Besta and appreciate the depth because many units hold a lot less. I don't think the quality is quite as good as other Ikea products.

Besta flimsyHelenReally like how the besta look and bought it. But find the backing for the storage flimsy, made of cardboard. It’s not anchored or nailed in place and shifts. Also the top knobs would fall off. Would think IKEA would design that better. Other than this it does the trick and nice storage system

What is glass?
Glass is mainly made of sand, soda and lime melted at a high temperature. Tempering or various additives gives you extra-strong and impact-resistant glass that in some cases can be taken straight from freezer to oven without cracking. A big benefit is how glass can be recycled over and over without the quality deteriorating. Also, a lot less energy is needed to melt recycled glass compared to new raw materials. Our goal is to eventually use only recycled glass in our range.
