A Note on Availability

Statement from IKEA Canada as stock availability issues impacting businesses globally persist

Since the beginning of the pandemic, we have seen an increased interest in improving life at home and demand for IKEA products. We are grateful to our Canadian customers who continue to choose IKEA to create a better life at home.

At the same time, continued global supply-chain disruptions, port congestions and a historically high demand has created an imbalance in the total ocean freight market, which is resulting in industry-wide constraints. At IKEA Canada, we are currently experiencing lower availability and significant delays in certain product ranges, including kitchens and mattresses.

To be able to offer our customers a great IKEA experience, we are working to improve the availability of our products. We continue to take extraordinary actions such as buying our own containers and chartering space on vessels. Given the continued volatility of the situation, we are also focused on making the products that our customers love and need most, available in the Canadian market.

In addition, we will keep working to mitigate the effects of the global supply chain disruptions in our operations by collaborating with our partners to secure the availability of raw materials, minimize disruptions in production, and secure logistics capacities.

We want to thank our customers for their patience and understanding as our co-workers and partners work hard to restock their favourite IKEA products. During these times, we encourage customers to check online to determine product availability prior to their store visit or online purchase.
