In the studio with Sabine

In her light-filled studio in Rotterdam, Sabine Marcelis crafts her unique point of view on design. Whether she is making sculptural lamps or exploring how sunlight moves through glass, her pieces showcase dynamic and beautiful effects.

It’s about showcasing what a material or combinations of materials can be, so that it grabs your attention, and you want to take a closer look.

Lifted up by light

As part of a long-term goal, IKEA is exploring the shift from light that serves a specific function in the home to light that has an emotional impact and contributes to our wellbeing, too.
