IKEA Family Terms of Use
These Terms of Use apply to the IKEA Family loyalty program (the “IKEA Family Program”) and the use of the IKEA Family card or digital card (the “IKEA Family Card” or “Card”). The IKEA Family Program is administered by IKEA Canada Limited Partnership (“IKEA”). The IKEA Family Card is issued by IKEA and remains the property of IKEA. By participating in the IKEA Family Program, including by signing up for membership and using an IKEA Family Card, you agree that you have read, understood, and accepted these Terms of Use, and our Privacy Policy, found at https://www.ikea.com/ca/en/customer-service/privacy-policy/ and incorporated herein by reference, as they may be amended and updated by IKEA from time to time. IKEA reserves the right to amend, alter, withdraw, suspend, or terminate the IKEA Family Program, including any benefits, rewards, or these Terms of Use at any time without notice or compensation. We recommend that you review these Terms of Use regularly to keep up-to-date on any changes.
IKEA Family Program Membership
You may join the IKEA Family Program if you are 18 years of age or older, have a valid Canadian address, and have a valid email address. No purchase or fee is required to participate in the IKEA Family Program. You may only have one IKEA Family membership at any time. The IKEA Family Card is free and non-transferable. The IKEA Family Card is not a credit card. The IKEA Family Program is available for individuals only, not corporations or other types of business entities. IKEA reserves the right to refuse membership to any person deemed to be ineligible or who does not follow the enrolment procedures.
As an IKEA Family member, you can enjoy the benefits set out at IKEA Family Canada - Benefits & Rewards. To receive IKEA Family benefits, your IKEA Family Card must be presented and scanned at the time of purchase. You may be required to provide proof of identity when using an IKEA Family Card.
From time to time, IKEA may run contests into which you will be automatically entered when you use your IKEA Family card. A no purchase necessary method of entry into the contest is also available to IKEA Family members. IKEA reserves the right to suspend or terminate your IKEA Family Card and/or membership account, including all benefits, if (i) it has reason to believe that your use of the IKEA Family membership is or is likely to be in breach of these Terms of Use; or (ii) it suspects unauthorized use or abuse of its services, benefits, or rewards.
IKEA may close your IKEA Family membership account and delete your information if you have been inactive for more than two years. You will be notified before your information is deleted. To ensure that your account remains active, present your IKEA Family Card at every purchase.
You must advise IKEA immediately of any changes to your information including name, address, and email address. Members can update their information by visiting IKEA.ca or the IKEA Family website, clicking “My Profile”, logging in, updating the necessary information and clicking “Save changes”. IKEA will not be liable for misdirected email or mail communication where your personal information is inaccurate or no longer valid. If we believe that some of our records are inaccurate, we may contact you to verify our records. IKEA reserves the right to cancel any account that is incomplete or contains inaccurate information.
You are not permitted to share your IKEA Family account number and account information with anyone else. Account information, including the account password, should be protected and kept secure. IKEA will not be liable for any loss arising from your failure to ensure their safe keeping.
In the event of loss or theft of an IKEA Family Card or account information, please contact us immediately.
You may only use your IKEA Family membership for authorised purposes in accordance with these Terms and Conditions. You must not misuse or tamper with the features and services that you get access to through your IKEA Family membership (e.g. hack, introduce viruses, trojans, worms, logic bombs or other technologically harmful material, or carry out denial of service attacks or any other technologically harmful practice or material) or otherwise misuse or tamper with our technologies or functionalities.
How do I collect points?
As an IKEA Family member, you can collect points on all your purchases completed online at IKEA.ca, in-store at an IKEA Canada location, and through the IKEA Canada Customer Support Centre, except for gift card purchases and purchases made as an IKEA Business Network member. You will collect one point for every CAD $5.00 (Five Canadian Dollars) spent. You can also collect points weekly or monthly by interacting with IKEA in any of the following ways:
Weekly:
- Logging in to your IKEA Family account on IKEA.ca or the IKEA app (1 point);
- Creating a favourites list and saving it to your IKEA Family account (2 points);
Monthly:
- Creating a gift registry (2 points);
- Sharing a gift registry (2 points);
- Creating and saving a kitchen plan in the online planning tool (20 points);
- Booking and attending a planning appointment (25 points).
You will only receive points for the above interactions once in any week or month, as applicable.
To earn points for purchases and interactions online, you must be logged in to your IKEA Family account; and for purchases and activities in the store, you must present your IKEA Family Card. Points cannot be assigned to IKEA Family members who were not identified at the time of the eligible purchase or interaction. It is your sole responsibility to identify yourself by presenting your IKEA Family card/logging into your IKEA Family account. Purchases made before May 27, 2025 are not eligible for reward points.
How can I use my points?
Points will be credited to your IKEA Family account (i) within 48 hours of completion of an eligible purchase and (ii) in the case of an eligible interaction, within 48 hours after the eligible interaction or confirmed attendance at the eligible event or appointment. Please note that a purchase is not complete until all products in your order have been received. Points earned on the purchase of items which are subsequently returned will be deducted from your points balance, based on the value of any returned item(s). If the deduction results in a negative points balance, IKEA will not make any claim against you for the deficit.
Points are non-refundable and non-transferrable and cannot be exchanged for money or used as partial payment for the purchase of products or services unless such purchase is a claimed reward. They can only be exchanged for various rewards that are made available by IKEA Family. Points are valid for a period of 24 (twenty-four) months from the date they are credited to your IKEA Family account. After that period, the points will automatically expire. We will endeavour to remind you so that you can spend them before they expire however, we will not be responsible for any failure to do so.
Rewards that are eligible for redemption based on your points balance will be automatically unlocked in your IKEA Family account. If you choose to redeem an eligible reward, the required number of points will be deducted from your points balance, and you will receive an email with a reward voucher confirming your choice. Once points have been used for a reward, they will no longer be available in your IKEA Family account and the reward cannot be changed, refunded or returned. You can use the reward voucher on IKEA.ca, the IKEA app, in-store or by contacting the Customer Support Centre. Proof of your IKEA Family membership will be required to redeem your voucher and only one reward voucher may be redeemed at a time. You can only use the reward voucher once and any cancellation of a reward after it is chosen will count as use of the reward voucher. The reward voucher will expire if it is not used within thirty (30) days from the date of its issue IKEA will not issue a replacement voucher, refund redeemed points or offer equivalent rewards upon expiry of a reward voucher.
General
To the extent permitted by applicable law, IKEA will not be liable to you for any loss or damages of any kind, including without limitation: (a) for any indirect, special or consequential damages, arising out of your IKEA Family Program membership; (b) in connection with the taking, use of, or inability to use any benefits, rewards or offers provided under these Terms of Use; or (c) arising out of your failure to comply with these Terms of Use.
If you no longer wish to receive promotional emails or SMS from IKEA or IKEA Family, login via your IKEA Family ‘Preferences’ page, and edit your subscriptions.
If you would like to cancel your IKEA Family membership, login via your IKEA Family ‘Login & Security’ page, and click ‘Delete account’. If you cancel, you will no longer have access to the IKEA Family membership, its benefits, and rewards. Any benefits or rewards accrued at the date of cancellation will be forfeited and cannot be redeemed following cancellation. If any term or provision of these Terms of Use is deemed to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable in any jurisdiction, such invalidity, illegality, or unenforceability shall not affect any other term or provision of these Terms of Use or invalidate or render unenforceable such term or provision in any other jurisdiction.
These Terms of Use will be governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, notwithstanding your domicile, residence or physical location. Any action or proceeding arising out of or relating to these Terms of Use shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Ontario courts.
