Planning service terms and conditions
Planning is based on the accuracy of the measurements provided by the customer. IKEA is not responsible for errors in design if the measurements provided by the customer are incorrect. If the measurements provided by the customer at the time of the Planning Service are incomplete or inaccurate, IKEA may refuse to proceed with the Planning Service and ask the customer to reschedule their appointment.
Upon completion of the Planning appointment, it is the customer's responsibility to review the design and confirm that the measurements and dimensions entered into the IKEA home planner tool by the IKEA Planner are accurate and match with the measurements and dimensions provided by the customer.
If you have selected a paid service, please ensure to complete your payment today to secure your date and time. If payment has not been received by the end of the day (before midnight Eastern time), the appointment will automatically be canceled.
Please note, that the call may be recorded, and other IKEA coworkers may join the session for quality and training purposes.
We understand that scheduling conflicts can happen, and last-minute changes may be necessary at times. If you would like to change your service date or cancel the appointment, please contact 1-866-866-IKEA (4532) or use the link provided in your appointment email confirmation. To avoid any fees for missed appointments or cancellations please note that any changes must be made 24h in advance of your appointment.
Your contact information will be shared with the Service Provider in order to provide you with the kitchen installation quote and the Kitchen Planning Service. If you choose to provide your email address when booking your service, it will be used to update you on your order status, respond to your inquiry, or to send a service quality survey. In-store planning & consulting service
For your appointment, check in with the Host in the department 10 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment.
Online planning & consulting service
5 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment, make sure to log into the TEAMS invite you received.
In-home kitchen planning service
A carefully selected independent third-party Service Provider will perform your in-home Kitchen Planning Service. To ensure that your Kitchen Planning Service appointment is successful, your participation is needed. Please ensure that you (or your representative who is at least 18 years old and will be able to discuss and make decisions on your behalf) are present at the Kitchen Planning Service appointment on the agreed-upon day and at the given window. Our Service Provider will not be able to complete the Kitchen Planning Service without your participation. The working area must be sage for the Service Provider to perform their services. Please note that drywall finishing must be completed before any Kitchen Planning Services can be performed.
Within 24-to-48-hour business hours of scheduling your Kitchen Planning Service, you will be contacted by the Service Provider to confirm the time of the appointment, and your address and provide you with information to help you prepare for the visit.

Upon completion of the In-Home Kitchen appointment, please sign the Service Order in the presence of the Independent Service Provider’s representative to indicate completion.
IKEA will not make changes to any plans created by the Service Provider.

If you are not at home at the scheduled date & time, the Service Provider will leave a note confirming that they attempted to complete the appointment. The Service provider will not return, nor will they attempt to return to complete the service. The service charge will not be refunded. You must return to the store to re-schedule and will be required to pay for your new service appointment.

Kitchen measurement service

In order to ensure that your Kitchen Service appointment is successful, your participation is needed. Please ensure that you (or your representative who is at least 18 years old who will be able to discuss and make decisions on your behalf) are present at the Kitchen Service appointment at the agreed upon day and at the given time window. Our IKEA Kitchen service will not be able to complete the Kitchen Service without your participation. The working area must be safe for the Independent Service Provider to perform their services. Please note that drywall finishing must be completed before any Kitchen Services can be performed.

Within 24 to 48 business hours of scheduling your Kitchen Measurement Service, you will be contacted by our IKEA Kitchen service team to confirm the appointment and your address, as well as to help you prepare for the visit. An experienced, professional, measurement technician will visit you in your home to assess the conditions and provide accurate measurements.
Collecting or verifying measurements of your room
Room dimension (height, length, width) Dimension and position of windows and doors Position of external walls Width of all windows (including the sill) and their height above the floor Position of sloping ceilings Position of electric, water and gas connections and other fixtures e.g. pipes, radiators Confirm that all room corners are square Confirm that all included walls are plumb All required dimensions will be entered into the IKEA Home Planner saved to your account under your unique user profile within 24 to 48 hours.
At the completion of the Measurement appointment:
Please sign the Service Order in the presence of the IKEA Kitchen service representative to indicate completion.
How do I make a change to my service date or cancel an appointment?
If you would like to change your Measurement, IKP or IPQ service date or cancel the appointment, please contact IKEA at least 24 business hours before your scheduled Measurement, IKP or IPQ appointment. Charges are not refundable if cancellations are made within 24 business hours in advance of the appointment. Call 1-866-866-IKEA (4532).
