Your IKEA assembly will be completed by a Tasker assigned by Taskrabbit. Once you complete your purchase of the assembly service, you will receive a welcome email from Taskrabbit. In order to complete the assembly service, you must follow the instructions in the welcome email to set up or confirm your TaskRabbit account so that you can chat with your assigned Tasker. Please note that if you do not register or confirm your Taskrabbit account or do not chat with your Tasker before the scheduled assembly service, your assembly service will be canceled.
BEFORE ASSEMBLY APPOINTMENT
- Please ensure that:
- You have all the products needed for the assembly service; and
- The boxes are in good condition, and there are no visible damages. Please contact IKEA promptly in the event you have missing or damaged products. - Ensure that the products on your assembly order are in the room where they will be assembled or, if not possible, in a nearby room on the same floor of your home.
- Ensure there is enough space in the room to safely assemble and secure the products. The Tasker is not responsible for moving any furniture in order to complete the assembly service.
- The room (e.g., walls, floor) must be ready for the assembly and securing of products. For example, products requiring securing to the wall must sit flush with the wall. As such, any moulding (e.g., baseboards) or other existing fittings must be removed. In addition, if your product is going in front of an electrical outlet, that electrical outlet must be decommissioned by an electrician as furniture being assembled cannot be set up to block any electrical outlets under Quebec Provincial Law. The purchased assembly service does not include dismantling or dismounting of existing fixtures.
- Purchase any additional screws and/or plugs or other fittings required in advance. IKEA does not provide these items.
- Ensure someone over the age of 18 is available to accept the Tasker at the scheduled time. A rescheduling charge may be applied if no one is available.
- To cancel an assembly appointment, IKEA must be notified as soon as possible. To avoid fees, IKEA must be notified a minimum of 24 hours prior to the appointment.
DURING AND AFTER THE ASSEMBLY
- The assembly and securing of IKEA products will only be performed in accordance with the product assembly instructions. The Tasker will review with you the products that require wall mounting and/or anti-topple devices as per assembly instructions prior to starting assembly.
I understand that if a product’s assembly instructions require wall mounting and/or the use of an anti-topple device, this is mandatory and cannot be declined. I understand that if I refuse the wall mounting and/or anti-topple device, the assembly of this product will be canceled, and the product will not be assembled. - The Tasker will not perform:
· Removal or altering of any moulding (e.g., baseboards)
· Electrical work
· Plumbing work
· Installation of electronic items
· Modification of any IKEA products
· Kitchen or bathroom installation - All packaging will be neatly gathered. The Tasker is not responsible for the disposal of packaging.
OTHER IMPORTANT THINGS TO KNOW
- If the Tasker is unable to complete the services because of unsafe work conditions or if the requirements mentioned above are not met, a new assembly date needs to be scheduled and additional fees will apply.
