Malin and her colleagues dug deep into coffee and tea cultures to find out what tools people feel they can’t live without. They talked to specialists and investigated living, eating and drinking habits. “We wanted to develop items that make a difference, so we’ve focused on a few, but carefully selected products,” she states. The team cooperated with IKEA Test Lab in Älmhult, Sweden. It’s an IKEA version of a James Bond lab where prototypes are inspected and evaluated. “A couple of the things we checked were that the thermoses can keep fluids really warm for a long time. And that the glass mugs and glass pots are durable and comfortable, even though they look and feel light and airy,” says Malin.

Great productElizavetaIt’s a great product, it makes coffee with milk taste like a real latte from coffee shop (even if you have a cheap coffee machine at home haha). I don’t know why everyone is complaining about batteries - never had an issue with that. Also I use this product almost daily and you need to change batteries once a year at max. We had it for years back home - never had an issue and now we have been using it here in Canada for 1.5 already - no problems as well!
Good frother, if you can get the batteries inJoanneI had to come to this product page to figure out that it requires 2 AA batteries because it doesn’t say so on the product. Even with the information it took me quite some time to figure out how exactly these two batteries would fit in because it is very tight and you have to maneuver the battery lid in a precise manner for it to fit and close.

It came with no instructions, and the cap for the battery compartment is so tight and difficult to close that I was worried about breaking it. It ended up taking us 20 minutes just to set it up. I’m surprised that IKEA, a brand known for making things simple and user-friendly, has produced a product with no mention of AA batteries or clear guidance on battery orientation (+/–).

Getting batteries in is extremely challenging, you have to put a AA in first and push it as far to the side as possible. Closing the top may help push it over. Then you can get the other one in (still a very tight squeeze).
