Returns and Right of withdrawal

Sometimes things don't go exactly as planned. If you change your mind or want to make a withdrawal of your purchase, we're here to help you. On this page, we assist you in finding the right information if you want to return a product, make a claim, or just read up on our guarantees.

Withdrawal from contract 

 

For online and remote orders, you are always entitled to change your mind and withdraw from (cancel) your contract with us up to 14 days after the last item in your order has been delivered.​ You can choose to cancel the whole order, or just selected items. This right of withdrawal does not apply to custom-made products, food products, or appliances that have already been installed. Please also look after the items you want to return as we can't accept products that are dirty, stained or damaged either.

We will give you a refund, plus your basic delivery charge for the items cancelled. If would like us to collect part of, or the whole order, you may be eligible for a collection charge. Where possible, this will be deducted from the refund due to you. To return the cancelled items you can select the option that suits you best during the withdrawal process.

365 days return

 

At IKEA we make returning products easy. You have a full 365 days to return a product. You can return the product to any IKEA store, even if you purchased it at another IKEA store or at IKEA.be. How to make a return at IKEA

We’ve simplified our return policy so that there are just three key things to remember about making a return to us.

  1. You have 365 days to make a return if your product meets our return policy conditions.
  2. When making a return, please bring your receipt or order number. If you cannot find your receipt or order reference, we will do our best to help you find your proof of purchase.
  3. You can always return to an IKEA store, whether you bought the product online or in-store.

In-store Express return (free)

Save time at the store by pre-registering your return. If you have your till receipt or order number, follow the link below and enter your details to receive your Express return barcode. This will make your journey to the Returns counter much quicker. When you arrive at Customer Service in the store, you’ll be placed in a prioritised queue.

This service is only available for private customers. Remember to bring the barcode (valid for 14 days) and your proof of purchase/receipt.  

Parcel return

If the article(s) you are returning have a total weight of less than 30kg and can fit in a parcel*, it can be returned through a parcel return at the cost of € 5,99 per parcel. (only available in Belgium)

After you have received your return label, you can return at your convenience to over 3.500 locations within 14 days. Until we’ve received your return, it’s your responsibility – so pack it safely and keep your postal receipt until we’ve received it. Your refund will be processed once the article(s) have been received by IKEA.*

The longest side of your parcel must not be longer than 150 cm.

Your parcel must not be wider than 45 cm and not higher than 30 cm.  

Return by truck

If the item(s) you are returning have a total weight of more than 30 kg or are too large for a parcel return, you can return them by truck.

There are costs associated with returning products by truck. Overview of return prices:

  • 0 - 50kg: 39,90€
  • 50 - 100kg: 54,90€
  • 100 - 200kg: 64,90€
  • 200 - 400kg: 89,90€
  • 400 - 600kg: 115€
  • 600 - 800kg: 140€
  • 800 - 1000kg: 165€
  • 1000kg or more: 190€ 


To ensure a smooth collection, assembled products must be disassembled and packed in their original packaging.If original package is not at hand, please pack well and protect the articles from damage during transit.


Important: This option is not available for customers with an address in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. Please contact our customer service if this situation applies to you. 

In-store returns to IKEA

To return a product at one of our stores, go to the Customer Service counter. To ensure the process goes smoothly, please bring your proof of purchase too.


Cancelling an IKEA order​  

For orders not yet dispatched, you can cancel through the IKEA Track and Manage my order page. For dispatched orders, simply cancel by contacting IKEA Customer Support Centre. ​ 

For online orders, we offer a 14-day cancellation policy. This provides a full refund, plus your basic delivery charge, if you cancel up to 14 days after the order has arrived with you.
