At IKEA we give you a full 365 days to return products. If you change your mind and the product fulfils the return conditions, you can return or exchange it in one of these ways.

How to return a product to IKEA

At IKEA we make returning products easy. You have a full 365 days to return a product, unopened, opened or even fully assembled. You can return the product to any IKEA store, even if you purchased it at another IKEA store or at Things will go even more smoothly if you can present a proof of purchase.

In-store returns to IKEA

To return a product at one of our stores, go to the Customer Service counter. To ensure the process goes smoothly, please bring your proof of purchase too.

In-store Express return (free)

Register your return in advance. That helps us make your return experience at the IKEA store as smooth as possible. Conditions for Express returns:

  • No more than 10 products
  • Products must be undamaged and in the original packaging.
  • There is a proof of purchase

After registering your return, you will be sent a barcode* you can scan to drop off your products in the Express return lane at your IKEA store. Note: this barcode is valid for 14 days.

Ship return by bpost

Can’t get to a store? You can always return smaller IKEA products by post.

Request a return label* and affix it to the box. Drop off the parcel at a Bpost point of your choosing within two weeks.

Conditions for postal returns:

  • Only available in Belgium
  • Maximum parcel weight and dimensions: 30kg and 118x58x58cm
  • Cost 4,99€ per parcel

Until we’ve received and registered your return, it’s your responsibility – so pack it safely and keep your postal receipt until we’ve received it.

IKEA returns via collection

We offer a paid home pick-up service for large products. Contact us when your product is ready for pick-up. We’ll tell you the price and agree a pick-up time.

We do our utmost to ensure your products are delivered in perfect condition. If any part of your product is damaged, we will provide an appropriate solution. Bring the product and your proof of purchase to Customer Service in the IKEA store or ask us to pick it up free of charge.

Cancelling an IKEA order​  

For orders not yet dispatched, you can cancel through the IKEA Track and Manage my order page. For dispatched orders, simply cancel by contacting IKEA Customer Support Centre. ​ 

For online orders, we offer a 14-day cancellation policy. This provides a full refund, plus your basic delivery charge, if you cancel up to 14 days after the order has arrived with you.
