Sensitive to low temperatures, and tend to like it a little warmer and humid.

Let's get to know STRELITZIA, or better known as the Bird of paradise

The Bird of paradise name comes from it's unusual flowers that resemble forest birds in colour and shape. They are native to South Africa, so prefer warm and humid surroundings. This plant can grow large, up to 1 to 1.5+ metres, with big, paddle- shaped leaves that require adequate surrounding space.

Protect it against cold draughts in winter. and strong afternoon sun in the summer. It also benefits from an occasional misting once or twice a week. Fertilise during the active growth of summer with slow-release fertiliser.
