It's large enough to hold our salt & pepper grinders, bottle of olive oil, jar of garlic in oil and a spoon rest. Small enough not to take up alot of space on the bench but big enough to fit all the items. The lip around the edge is high enough to secure everything in place. Sturdy and easy to clean.5
