The knife has indentations on the blade which let air into the cutting surface so the food you slice doesn't stick to the blade.

Made of molybdenum/vanadium stainless steel, which is why the knife stays sharp for a very long time.

The knife's tang runs through the length of the handle, making it very wear-resistant and balanced.

The handle in dark walnut is comfortable to hold and gives you a good grip.

Vardagen vegetable and meat knifeKevinI bought a knife with the same steel and characteristics as this knife for half price (Au$10). Took it home and sharpened it a bit more on a ceramic stone and found I could shave my hairy legs with it, not as effectively as a razor, but that is my test of how sharp a knife can get. I also bought a set of two knives for $3 and the larger ss curved blade one, sliced through meat with much the same ease as the Vardagen, fluted one. IKEA knives seem good buying!5
