“Fläder” is the Swedish name of elderflowers, creamy yellow flowers that are in full bloom around Midsummer time in most areas around Sweden.

In Sweden, elder is used for both syrup and spread. Here, elderflowers are mixed with orange and orange peel to create a spread with a fresh summer taste that is sweet yet refreshing.

Enjoy the spread on toast or crispbread, for summery breakfasts or as a snack between meals.

Orange and elder – yummy!

The elder bush grows up to 7 metres tall with creamy-white, strongly-scented flowers and dark berries with sanguine juice. In Sweden, elder is commonly used for syrup, but also makes a great jam. Like in our VGGSÅNG orange and elderflower spread, where orange and orange peel are mixed with elderflowers for a fresh, yet sweet, topping for crispbread or toast. Perfect for summery breakfasts or as a snack between meals!
