I complained to the store the next day and I visited the store to see for myself. Even the display cabinet had the same issues. And was told well that's what it is and looks like. A return wasn't offered either. I'm annoyed evertime I see and use it. I have a very old ikea pull out larder which is still working perfectly. Pull it out, see the items. Take out and put back. Why change products if they work. These baskets also were adjustable and bottom of larder eas easy to clean out too.

Who would have thought…Bradthat not every pantry is a pantry. This one is exceptional, albeit maybe a little on the high side price was but can’t fault the quality or the wow factor and when you offset the cost of the rather high prices fixed shelves, this little beauty is not that much of a steep upgrade.
Both the smaller door bins and the main larger bins are of great size. Sure the larger basket/bins could maybe slide out further but that would be at the cost of decent size bins on the door.
Not a single person who has seen this pantry has not been impressed and not stopped and had a few goes at opening and closing the door and really is a fantastic upgrade to any Metod kitchen, highly recommended

Kitchen transformationAngelaI installed this as part of a kitchen renovation. I am really happy with the ease of use and the performance. The only thing to be aware of is that it can be a little dark inside at night if you don't have lighting for it. We have some rechargeable LED lights which we will install to assist with this.

Great pantry storageUlrikecHaving this within the matching kitchen cupboard makes a huge difference. The mechanism pulls the baskets out a bit which makes them easily accessible. Fairly sturdy.

More frustrating and less space than fixed shelves, avoid.GlenThe shelves don’t actually come out of the cupboard, they just slide forward to the front of the cupboard when you open the door. I assume the idea here is to make the cupboard effectively shallower, making items at the back easier to reach.
In practice, all this does is give you less space in your pantry. Items at the back are incredibly hard to reach, and I have lost count the number of times items have fallen off the back of the shelves when it is pulled out. They fall under the shelving at the bottom and are a real pain to remove. Also, forget about being able to easily access anything at the back of the bottom shelves.
The only positives are the large door baskets and the fact it certainly looks cool. Visitors to my house are always impressed with how it slides forward, but it is a nightmare to live with and use.
Avoid and install a bunch of internal drawers instead. IKEA needs to re-engineer this one.
Should be called a "pull forward 100mm" larder.RyanJust assembled this only to find out the shelves do not pull out (as the product name implies), so that you could access goods from the side... they only come forward about 100mm. This means if you wanted to access something in the back of a shelf, you'd have to leave large amounts of overhead clearance or pull things out to get to it. Functionally no more practical than wire shelves in design, yet a large factor more expensive.
Each shelf is only supported by 2 cheap plastic pieces, making it a little sketchy if you want to load up a shelf with bulk foods. How did this one get approved for production?
