Quality not what it used to beNeridaI purchased two full table sets of these placemats many years ago & they've been fabulous; look good, easy care, long-lasting. Still going strong but now have a bit of wear & tear, so thought I'd grab a new set. Well, what a disappointment. These mats are now thinner/lighter than they used to be, so they don't sit flat. Worse, they come out of the wash so wrinkled they look horrid & are all but unusable without ironing them first. Who has time to IRON placemats??? Skimping on the quality of a previously great product has lost you this customer Ikea. Very disappointing.
Too cheap and not fit for purposeAnonymousThey have holes so any any liquid or moisture seeps straight throughout onto the table.
The corners easily snag on things and bend then you can't easily flatten it again.
Some positive notes are they look pretty nice and prevent some table clatter.

Once washed, always crinkledSamanthaWashed before use, and could not get them flat and crinkle-free again. Tried ironing when dry. Tried ironing when wet. Tried a very shot time in the dryer. Tried air drying in different positions on drying rack. NOTHING WORKS. Embarrassed we had to use them when we had guests over, the looked horrific. I do like the fact that they are 100% cotton though, hate plastic/polyester things.
Poor quality rubbishLeighPlacemats are too big. They have so many wrinkles from being folded and scrunched up on the shelf they can’t be washed or ironed out. They won’t sit flat on the table and the corners curl up. Even tho I like the colour they are a great disappointment
Very creased placematsMei-CheungI bought eight two days ago and washed them before first use. Very disappointed to see so many deep creases after the wash. I smoothened and straightened them before hanging out to dry. To no avail, they creased so much that ironing didn't help. I have a few that have been used for several years. They are in a darker grey shade than the new lot, but stay in straighter shape after washing. Will return for a refund even though the product tags have been removed. Only worth one star.

Don’t waste your money (even if they are cheap!)NicoleWish I’d read the reviews before I purchased (but who’d think you’d need to read a review on a placemat!). Bought 8 of them and the matching table runner. Cut all the ridiculous Ikea tags off and threw them in the wash as they had an odd smell to them. Came out the wash stiff and deeply creased up (despite fabric softener). Pretty sure they have shrink also and they weren’t huge to begin with. Couldn’t even straighten them out properly to hang to dry. Haven’t even attempted to iron yet but reading reviews now don’t think I’ll have much luck. While I love that ikea sells some cheap products you need to make sure they are usable or people won’t trust the products in your store.
