One layer is lighter for warmer weather, and the other is warmer for cooler days, so you can use them separately depending on the season or combine them for extra warmth.     I really like how this comes as two inserts, a lightweight & a medium weight insert that can be snapped together to make a heavier weight insert. You can use the inserts separately or together. Very versatile & well made. A great value.

    How to care for your polyester duvet

    With a little care, you can prolong the life of your polyester duvet and keep it feeling and looking fresh. Use a mild detergent and set your washer on delicate cycle at 60°C – a temperature that eliminates dust mites. Avoid using bleach and fabric softeners. Polyester duvets can be either air-dried or tumble-dried according to the care instructions. In between washes, air your duvet regularly, if possible, in direct sunlight.
