Good value induction cooktop CharineHappy with this - heats really well, looks good, pretty intuitive to work out (although I haven’t mastered the additional functions like holding at a warm or simmer temp).
Good productSeanEasy installation, very fast when heating up items, works as expected. A little touchy sometimes, but it normally means there is moisture on your fingertips. Wipe that off and no issues.
Doesn't get hot enough! Not as quick as other inductions I've used.RoxanneAfter having touch issues with the Trevlig we thought we'd upgrade to the Smaklig. Whilst the touch issues are not an issue with the upgrade, there is the issue that the unit does not get hot enough and it takes an awful lot longer to heat up than every other induction I've used, including IKEA branded ones. I checked the settings and made sure it was set to the maximum wattage and it still performs poorly when I need a very hot pan. Cooking meat is slow, and therefore it stews. I can get the job done by cooking in smaller batches, but definitely not ideal! Cannot afford to purchase a different one, though.

Cooking ParadiseBrianWish I had bought this unit earlier. It has transformed cooking as the induction is so simple to use and extremely versatile with its 4 seperate automatic settings. When you are finished a quick wipe and the entire cooktop is clean, no more dismantling gas rings etc.

I love my Induction cooktopMargaretI have used induction since 2003 and needed to replace my original unit. The SMAKLIG is 'tops'.....so pleased with it. I guess technology has changed in 20 years , however it is far more efficient to use than my old one (not from IKEA)
So far, so good!MichaelHad it for 5 days now and love it! Easy to use – convenient to have 4 sets of controls and a finger slider (so you never need to tap buttons repeatedly like an idiot). I reckon this is worth the extra $100 over Bejublad.
Responding to other reviews I've read: It's not noisy, it doesn't fritz out when there's a spill. I can't comment yet on how easily the glass scratches or breaks. I haven't seen the usefulness yet of "Automatic" mode.
Faulty itemHareshOn the first day of use, there were issues with the hob. Called up Ikea and spoke to Ikea support. Ikea support logged a call with the manufacturer and it took 2 weeks from the company technician to look at the issue. Based on technicians response, it seemed like it is a common issue with this model of Ikea hob. He took the information and passed it on to the company (Whirlpool). After one week, I received a text that the part will arrive in 2 weeks time and once it arrives, they will organise someone to come out to fix the issue. First the item arrived faulty, It's been already 4 weeks since my purchase and it'll take 3 more weeks to find out whether the hob will be fixed satisfactority. I mentioned about the refund or replace with brand new item but Ikea don't seem to have that process. Once you purchase you're stuck with repaired item. Not happy about this. I'll have to take this to fair trade since the issue was notified within 7 days.
