Induction hobs are extremely energy efficient, fast and precise as induction technology transfers energy directly into magnetic cookware.

Gives you the flexibility to use larger and different pots for special recipes or occasions as the bridge function allows you to connect 2 cooking zones into 1 large one when needed.

The touch and slide control panel allows you to regulate the heat easily and precisely by sliding your finger across the temperature scale or touching the desired temperature on the display.

You have excellent control when you cook since the individual timers allow you to time each zone separately.

With the auto-cook function, each zone is pre-set to either warm, melting, boiling or simmering. To quickly adjust the heat, slide the pan to the desired zone and press the auto-cook symbol.

The power booster feature (P) delivers additional power to a single cooking zone. This kind of rapid intense heat is ideal for boiling water, stir frying food or searing meat.

Pause function allows you to suspend the cooking process if you're interrupted, then re-start again at the same temperature in an instant. When the pause function is activated the cooking zone is automatically switched to the “keep warm” setting.

By holding the lock key for 4 seconds you activate the child lock and cleaning function temporarily, and clean the surface without changing any settings.

Easy to clean by just wiping with a damp cloth or sponge as spills from food or liquids do not burn on the surface.

Anti-overflow detection feature automatically switches off the hob if cooking content boils over and spills onto the control panel.

When installing your hob in a base cabinet with drawers, complete with NYTTIG hob separator for drawer. The protective barrier prevents reaching the hob from below and getting burned.
Cooking zones are grouped (left or right) and connected to phases, each with a maximum power supply. When using more than one zone connected to the same phase, the hob divides the power between them.
The power setting of the last selected cooking zone is prioritised. Power to the previously activated cooking zone is reduced to match the maximum supply.

Induction hobs requires cookware with magnetic base.
The hob may produce low humming, whistling or ticking sounds. These sounds are caused by the induction technology and they are completely normal.

Do not use scouring-powder, steel wool, hard or sharp tools which can scratch the surface.
After cleaning, be sure to wipe dry with a soft cloth.
Remove stains and food residue after each use using a cloth damped with warm water and a mild detergent.

Doesn't get hot enough! Not as quick as other inductions I've used.RoxanneAfter having touch issues with the Trevlig we thought we'd upgrade to the Smaklig. Whilst the touch issues are not an issue with the upgrade, there is the issue that the unit does not get hot enough and it takes an awful lot longer to heat up than every other induction I've used, including IKEA branded ones. I checked the settings and made sure it was set to the maximum wattage and it still performs poorly when I need a very hot pan. Cooking meat is slow, and therefore it stews. I can get the job done by cooking in smaller batches, but definitely not ideal! Cannot afford to purchase a different one, though.3

Cooking ParadiseBrianWish I had bought this unit earlier. It has transformed cooking as the induction is so simple to use and extremely versatile with its 4 seperate automatic settings. When you are finished a quick wipe and the entire cooktop is clean, no more dismantling gas rings etc. Best kitchen buy ever.5

I love my Induction cooktopMargaretI have used induction since 2003 and needed to replace my original unit. The SMAKLIG is 'tops'.....so pleased with it. I guess technology has changed in 20 years , however it is far more efficient to use than my old one (not from IKEA)5

So far, so good!MichaelHad it for 5 days now and love it! Easy to use – convenient to have 4 sets of controls and a finger slider (so you never need to tap buttons repeatedly like an idiot). I reckon this is worth the extra $100 over Bejublad. Responding to other reviews I've read: It's not noisy, it doesn't fritz out when there's a spill. I can't comment yet on how easily the glass scratches or breaks. I haven't seen the usefulness yet of "Automatic" mode.5

Faulty itemHareshOn the first day of use, there were issues with the hob. Called up Ikea and spoke to Ikea support. Ikea support logged a call with the manufacturer and it took 2 weeks from the company technician to look at the issue. Based on technicians response, it seemed like it is a common issue with this model of Ikea hob. He took the information and passed it on to the company (Whirlpool). After one week, I received a text that the part will arrive in 2 weeks time and once it arrives, they will organise someone to come out to fix the issue. First the item arrived faulty, It's been already 4 weeks since my purchase and it'll take 3 more weeks to find out whether the hob will be fixed satisfactority. I mentioned about the refund or replace with brand new item but Ikea don't seem to have that process. Once you purchase you're stuck with repaired item. Not happy about this. I'll have to take this to fair trade since the issue was notified within 7 days.2
