SKOGSTA CHOPPING BOARDMargaretI needed a new chopping board and chose the SKOGSTA. The wood is acacia and needs to be oiled before using. You can use olive oil or Gilly's Orange Oil, which is food safe. I find the size, not too big, suits me and the board is not too heavy. Love the wood block pattern. I imagine I shall use this board for many years to come. Excellent value for money. Thank you, IKEA.
Very rough surfaceGurpreetVery rough surface - The board was covered with packaging so couldnt check. Has been in cupboard since bought.
TerribleMarkWhen this chopping board was bought it was lovely and smooth as you would expect but as soon as it gets wet all the fibres in the wood stand up and make the surface quite rough. They dont go back down when it dries. So now I'll have to sand it smooth again, possibly more than once. I dont know what wood this is made from but it would seem to be unsuitable for a chopping board. I've never had to do this for any board I've bought from somewhen else.
