If you have a photo, you might want to have it in the very front, but an artwork on watercolour paper with a slightly handmade feel, is nice to place further back in the frame to emphasize the paper texture and give the motif more life,” suggests Andreas.

This frame fits with a picture that has dimensions 13x18 cm if you use it with the mount, and it fits with a picture that has dimensions 21x30 cm if you choose to use the frame without the mount.
The mount will not turn yellow since it is acid-free.
Screws for wall mounting not included. Different wall materials require different fixing devices, use devices suitable for your walls. IKEA recommends ALFTA adhesive hook.

I’d heard about Ikea frames on the grapevine but was reluctant to try an unknown. But once I got this frame home and put the picture inside, boy did it live up to the hype. It has everything: the frame surrounds the entire picture, and the clear front allows full view of the picture even while it is encased inside. But the features don’t stop there; hooks at the back allow it to be hung from a wall, or in my case, a door. You could probably even find other surfaces to hang it on. I’ve hung mine in portrait arrangement but there is another hook that allows for landscape, so versatile this frame is. Thank you Ikea for your dedication to innovation in framing technology that has blessed me with art on my wall. Great impact for great price. AnonymousI purchased 18 Rödalm frames in three different sizes for a exhibition. I didn’t have the funds to spend on custom framing so decided Ikea would do nicely.
The impact when walking into the room and seeing 54 frame working harmonious together with incredible.
The downside to these is the high reflection on the Perspex and as it doesn’t sit amazing rigid in the large frame this was a slight problem with lighting.
Was happy to work around this for the costs saved.

Great affordable frame but some damaged goods received NeilThe frames are great for the price. They don't look like real wood but they're ok. The main problem was that I received 2 frames and the Perspex sheet for one of them, though sealed and covered in protective sticky plastic was damaged in 3 places making it unusable.
I have used both frames without the perspex insert, but it's disappointing when you rely on delivery due to my limited mobility and it's simply too hard to return damaged goods .
I was surprised by the damaged goods and it was 1 item out of 6 that I ordered.

Frames not only protect your photos and memories. They’re also good when you want to add the finishing touch to your interior. With RÖDALM, there are as many possibilities as there are motifs. “Hanging something on the wall is a simple trick when you want to create a more homely feel or tie the interior in a room together,” says Andreas Fredriksson, the designer behind RÖDALM, a family of frames in different sizes, colours and wood expressions.

”We have also reinforced the back of RÖDALM to make it durable and prevent the frame from warping. That’s good if you change addresses often or enjoy refurnishing,” explains Andreas. He believes the pictures people hang on their walls can give clues about their lives and who they are, but how you choose to frame them can also be revealing. ”I enjoy creating collages using frames in various sizes and styles on a small wall surface, for example, old ornate flea market frames together with a modern frame like RÖDALM.” Then, the actual motif becomes less important, and a simple brushstroke on a beautiful piece of paper can be enough. “In the end, what’s important is not necessarily what you choose to hang on your walls, but that you put something up that feels like you.”

What is fibreboard?
Fibreboard is a stable and durable material made of leftover wood from the wood industry. A durable outer layer of paint or laminate is added to the board. The difference between various types of fibreboards, such as HDF and MDF, is mainly the thickness, yet also how impact-resistant they are. This determines if we will use them for bed frames, sofa frames, kitchen fronts, wardrobe doors, or something completely different.
