Didn't work for meGuyThe two stars are for ease of assembly and appearance, however I found sitting on the chair aggravated a dormant leg pain that had originally been caused by prolonged sitting on an antique wooden office chair. The Poang's seat comprises a concave sheet of material with a bar at the front, which caused in my case a harmful pressure on the calf. The thick cushion did not adequately buffer against this. The design inspiration for the Poang is a 100-year-old Japanese design of which an example is in the National Gallery of Victoria. It has a sprung slat-bamboo seat that provides consistent support across the upper legs. Ikea might do well to return to first design principles. However, I was grateful to be able to return the chair (after three weeks of tinkering with cushions) for a full refund of the purchase price, though I was charged a pickup fee. I have found Ikea customer service to be excellent.
