When you have the right length, you then have to wind it to tighten it and that process shortens the leg again. There is a lot of trial and error involved. However, it is quite solid when you get it right.4

I have an electric sit/stand desk, but it would get cluttered by my "technical stuff" (Soldering iron, bench multimeter, etc. The Lagkapten + OLOV legs now functions as a desk-return, for my technical stuff. Table legs for masochistsNathanIf you love never quite being able to have each leg the same length, putting up with it for a while only to come back to it another time and repeat the cycle, these are the table legs for you.
Tightening the leg to lock it will shorten the leg at the same time. Attempts to measure and repeat the same operation are made miserable due to this design flaw.
I would have preferred an adjustable leg with a set screw which would be much more repeatable. I'm sure there's a robust enough application of that to suit a weight bearing table effectively. It would probably be cheaper than the absolute faf of these twisty-turny clown sticks.
I purchased this because I had to match this new table height against another and the fixed legs were too short. If I could redo it I would just put the fixed legs on some wood blocks to make the difference.1
