MaterialsBrendonThe cross-brace appears to be something like a nickel plated or stainless steel, rather than galvanised. The cross-brace that it replaces was galvanised. Whatever, it works as expected to brace my Ivar shelves, in fact the additional support and rigidity it provides is surprising.4

As mentioned, this does the job exactly as needed. It was a little awkward with only two hands, plus I needed an electric drill, but it all worked out in the end.
