Nordli Bed Frame with Brimnes Headboard - A Winner!TraceyI did lots of research into whether this combination would work & can confirm it does :) We have a King size mattress (Australian size) & as the Nordli has a platform style base, the mattress sits edge to edge on all sides & doesnt need to fit inside a frame (such as the Brimnes). The Nordli has a heavy, sturdy base which holds the Brimnes headboard firmly in place, so you don't need to secure it to a wall. Assembly took approx 4 hrs. The instructions are straightforward, though we had a YouTube tutorial on hand for backup.
Quality meets functionalityRobynVery happy with this 200x180 bed base. Sturdy and super stable design, took several hours to assemble so recommend to start early in the day if you want to sleep on it that night. It's super easy to make the bed - love the flat sideless design, it will be a breeze to rotate the mattress regularly. Also makes it easy and fast to make the bed with sheets etc. being stored in the drawers. Not sure how well a standard king size mattress would fit on it but it is the perfect partner for the 200x180 Vatnestrom extra firm mattress. Zero movement when partner moves. Suprised there is no headboard option available for the 200x180 size but we found a unique second hand king size cane one elsewhere that works beautifully with it so the upside would be you can have whatever style king size headboard you prefer.

Much better than expected!!SibThis new bed had been part of our renovation plans for almost 4 years. Initially I was going to get the headboard too, but it was too tall for where I wanted to place the bed. Reluctantly, I decided to purchase just the bed - and I love it!!! Hubby was pleasantly surprised by the quality and how easy it was to assemble. Not only did our marriage survive our first IKEA assembly project, we love that we now have a gorgeous bedroom. The renovations continue and I’m about to place my next order.

solid double bed frameKellyordered this Nordli bed frame to replace the previous iKea bed frame. This new one is solid as compared to the previous one. Love the 6 drawers which are spacious for storage.
Nordli Queen SizeDonnaHappy with the assembled product though we did face a significant problem in assembling it because of a misunderstanding of the instructions. Needed to remove an incorrectly orientated piece and it was extremely difficult to undo the fixings.
Just Perfect for MeKarenI am thrilled with my Nordli bed, especially the 6 self closing drawers. These are so much better than having the "free-standing" drawers on so many other beds. Plenty of room in the drawers as well. If I had to nitpick..... I'd love Ikea to be able to offer a bed board suitable for the base.
Also, I did use Ikea's assembly company to put the bed together. I can't fault the guy, Ben, who did the assembly. He was awesome, careful and polite. Took him 2 hours to assemble. However I'm less than happy with the non-existent customer service from the company, Install2U that Ikea uses.

No mattress to fitJaneI bought the smaller of these beds thinking it was a double (there were three sizes). The online picture for the double shows the mattress fitting flush. However there are no mattresses in store for this size of bed (except for flimsy day bed mattresses). The mattress I bought (double) was 11cm too short. Apparently, it is a European sized double. After a day spent assembling the bed this realisation was very disappointing and now I cannot find a mattress to fit! Knowing this before purchase would have helped. I will have to take it back!

Fibreboard is a stable and durable material made of leftover wood from the wood industry. A durable outer layer of paint or laminate is added to the board. The difference between various types of fibreboards, such as HDF and MDF, is mainly the thickness, yet also how impact-resistant they are. This determines if we will use them for bed frames, sofa frames, kitchen fronts, wardrobe doors, or something completely different.
