Product details

The tabletop has pre-drilled holes to make it easier to attach to the underframe.

Board-on-frame is a strong and lightweight material with a frame in wood, particleboard or fibreboard and a recycled paper filling. It requires less raw materials and is easy to transport, which reduces the environmental impact.

Good to know

This tabletop is suitable to use with legs from our Build Your Own Desk range. It's not suitable to use with underframes from our office range (like MITTZON, TROTTEN or IDÅSEN).

Fibreboard, Printed and embossed acrylic paint, Plastic edging, Honeycomb structure paper filling (min. 70% recycled), Particleboard, Clear acrylic lacquer, Fibreboard

Care

Wipe clean with a cloth dampened in a mild cleaner.

Wipe dry with a clean cloth.

For increased stability, re-tighten the screws about two weeks after assembly and when necessary.

Safety and compliance

This table has been developed and tested for home use and is not suitable for installation of a screen stand. Maximum evenly distributed weight is 50 kg. Do not place concentrated weight exceeding 15 kg on a small surface on the table.This table has been developed for home use and meets the requirements for durability and stability set forth in the following standards: EN 12521 and EN 1730.

Table top had a chip in it upon deliveryCayliePackaging is basic but didn't protect the edge well enough during transport, there was a small chip on one side, couldn't be bothered to exchange it so put that side to the wall otherwise it is as expected.4
EXPANDINGJoHave recently downsized homewise and now have a room rather than a space under the stairs, and so I organised to get a Lagkapten top to go with my corner table and drawers. My only concern is that it moves. I got legs for one end and the other sits on the 5 draws placed next to the corner table. I am constantly moving it back into place as I haven't as yet decided what to do to stop it moving.3

Easy assembly, perfect for our needsDebraI stopped short of a 5-star rating because the stickers on each of the legs are almost impossible to remove! PLEASE Ikea... do something about easier to remove stickers. Otherwise, the table is great. Exactly what we needed, easy to assemble and looks good. 4
GoodKatieI did not like that IKEA does not provide all the tools you need to assemble the desk, e.g. hammer and power drill as towards the end regarding the need for a power drill , you are required to screw screws into really dense wood. My Dad and my older brother could not do it with just a screwdriver or allenwrench. I also did not like that you could ruin your $237 desk by just one minor mishap when assembling. E.g. accidentally putting screws in at an angle. However once the desk is built it is a good desk, sturdy and the drawers are very handy.4

Material

What is constructed board?

We use constructed boards when manufacturing many of our pieces of furniture, such as tables and wardrobes. They are light yet still stable and strong. Each board has a frame made of chipboard, fibreboard or solid wood, while the inside is a honeycomb filling structure made of mostly recycled paper, which is extra durable thanks to its special construction. The board is then covered with a protective paint, foil or veneer depending on the style wanted.
