Look so good!!!JudieEasy to put together and they look great. Fittings/hinges matched up perfectly so anyone can assemble these doors. Well done, IKEA5

Limited installation options JeffreyNot as hard to install one door as others have made out. I can imagine some people won't have the strength to put the screws into the particle board as there are no pre-drilled holes, but most people who can assemble IKEA furniture will be fine. Biggest issue is that you can't install 2 doors side-by-side with handles facing each other or the hinges facing each other as the screws from either side of the partition inbetween will hit each other and cannot be screwed all the way in. I need to source my own nuts and bolts to do this. Massive and obvious design flaw that IKEA appears to have ignored for many years.2
Looks great but...TeneilThese look great, but as others have mentioned, they are a nightmare to put together. I spent longer on these than I did on the entire bookshelf I bought to put them in, and ended up needing a electric drill and superglue. As it is, they don't sit flush and the doors sometimes won't close properly. Definitely wouldn't purchase again, but they do look nice.2
Neatens the whole lookJacquieWe added these Kallax Doors to out black/brown unit and it tied in beautifully with our colour scheme and made everything look MUCH neater. Great way to add value and aesthetics to a room using Kallax shelving5
Poor qualityBillyVery cheap feel and the provided screws are straight up bad and not fit for purpose. They are both not long enough to tightly secure the insert to the sides, and they are two long if you want to have 2 doors next to each other, the middle piece separating them is not thick enough for screws from both sides. If you don't get it perfectly done the first time, there is no chance to retry, the holes are useless and your unit is permanently ruined. Either the type of screw should be different and the holes be pre-drilled, or it should be an option when ordering together. Extremely disappointed, ended up with holes and not using the insert at all.1
Lacking qualityJenniferI have one of these doors in an old Kallax unit and wanted to add another. I was surprised when I got home how poor the quality was. Fragile, cardboard thin sides - nothing like the solid wood of my existing door. The result is the door jams INSIDE the side lining instead of butting up against it. Very disappointing and I'm surprised Ikea let this out of the factory.1
GoodFloraWe will repurchase.5
Kallax DoorSandraA little fiddly to install, but once in, look fantastic and work well. We purchased the available glass shelves to go inside to subdivide the space but realised when we went to install them that we'd forgot to account for the hinges on the door taking up space inside. Please consider stocking glass shelves that are suitable to have inside the door insert.3
great storageSuzanneThis unit with both drawers and doors looks good and hides away my stuff, I would prefer it to have legs but I'll add those myself.5
Great way to refreshMariaThis made our kallax shelves so much more versatile and really refreshed the look.5
Kallax InsertsHelenLove the cupboard doors, they look great together with the drawers.5

Material

What is fibreboard?

Fibreboard is a stable and durable material made of leftover wood from the wood industry. A durable outer layer of paint or laminate is added to the board. The difference between various types of fibreboards, such as HDF and MDF, is mainly the thickness, yet also how impact-resistant they are. This determines if we will use them for bed frames, sofa frames, kitchen fronts, wardrobe doors, or something completely different.
