Hemnes bookcase. Terrible.GarryCheapest possible composite pseudo wood. Fragile, lightweight and probably not a s strong as cardboard. A complete rip off. Having spent hours putting this thing together, which was a complete pain, will use for firewood when the oil runs out.

Flimsy unit CorrineThe unit looks good but very cheaply made. Doors and drawers are very flimsy. Definitely not worth the money at $699! Would not recommend!
Hit and missDionneWe purchased 2 of these units when we discovered that there wasn't much kitchen storage space in our new home. In one unit, the drawers sit well, nice and flush with the outside frame. Unfortunately, the drawers in the other unit don't sit well, yet they were assembled the same. The bottom drawer keeps falling backwards and tilting away from the front, despite our checking that the screw points are the same as the other. A bit disappointing and frustrating because they look great aside from this.

Looks nice but flimsyTobyI love the look and colour of this cabinet but was frankly shocked how cheap and flimsy it seems. It's made of 'solid timber' (mostly) but it's extremely light and not very sturdy. The hinges and drawer runners are cheap and nasty. It wouldn't have killed IKEA to spend a few more dollars on these at least.
For the price, I would have expected much better. However, it really suits my space and I am going to buy the matching bookshelf version when it is available, even though it is three times the price of a Billy bookshelf.
My suggestion: check it out in-store and buy on special. Be careful you don't over-tighten screws as they can poke through or cause a visible bulge on the outside (my mistake)
